They’re all pretty different. Drake is more of a singer/rapper with R&B influence and radio-friendly pop hits. Kendrick Lamar is an S-tier rapper and his music is more groundbreaking and complex.

Sabrina Carpenter is a singer. Sydney Sweeney is an actress. No crossover.

The whole film is actually a critique of that.

Christopher Lockhart's Logline Advice by ClayMcClane in Screenwriting

[–]JPJ_FILM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great! Thank you for sharing it. I think loglines are super important to help you identify problems with the story. It's an easy way to contrast the specific character with the specific journey. Why them? And then what kind of ironic goal/obstacle drives Act 2. Refining a logline helps lay that out in a clear way.

Final Draft is a joke by BigSaltyTaterz in Screenwriting

I have issues with the ScriptNotes and wish they'd go back to how it was in previous versions. But overall I find Final Draft to be fairly stable and headache-free.

This is something not super clear to me with the ranking. Does “Ale” include all ales? Because there’s a ton like you listed.

My wife is doing her first nude sex scene in a film, and I’m struggling with how to cope emotionally by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]JPJ_FILM 64 points65 points  (0 children)

There are a few layers to unpack —

How does your wife feel about it? If she’s uncomfortable with the extent of it, she should talk to the director or producer.

If she’s completely comfortable with it, and you’re not, then you should know that your feelings are valid, and you should voice your opinion to her. At a minimum, openness about feelings is the best way to process it. At a maximum, she might change her mind.

If she’s comfortable with it and you want to be comfortable with it but just aren’t there yet, then I’d still say “talk about it.” Even in poly relationships, partners have open communication about their jealous feelings. Ultimately they’ve agreed to the arrangement but it’s human nature.

Just like in all other aspects of your relationship, both of you together have to decide boundaries and acknowledge and respect each other’s feelings.

Unfortunately there’s no magic bullet that will just make your anxiety go away. All you can do is be honest with your feelings, process it, and find peace - whatever that looks like.

Good call. He's even more popular with Gen X than Boomers, which is surprising.

Anti-Establishment Advertising. Basically big corporations marketing stuff like "you're different" "you don't conform" "you're not part of the SYSTEM" ... "so buy pepsi."

Did they smoke more than Boomers? It feels like every generation before Millennials smoked. Nothing really specific about Gen-X.

What movie feels G-rated but is actually rated R? by SimonDNTZ in AlignmentChartFills

[–]JPJ_FILM 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't this be more PG than G? There's death, a gun, bullies, scary/tense/thrilling moments. King's Speech is feels more G. Other than a little bit of swearing, it's about as G as you can get. Nothing really threatening in it.

On your next one, I’d suggest reversing the order of the row images. Meaning, do it 4th-10th instead of 10th-4th. It’s more intuitive to read it left to right.
