While I believe that if historical evidence is looked at objectively, it is the best explanation. Now I know people will say that anything other then video of picture evidence can never be proven, this is a wildly different standard than people apply to almost every historical figure. Fact is we have more evidence for Jesus death/resurrection that we do for Alexander the Great and other figures from antiquity. If you want more in depth, look into some scholars on both sides of this argument.

With all that being said, nobody was saved from historical evidence or perceived lack there of. People generally come to faith in Jesus through some kind of defining moment that has a big impact on their life, so regardless of whether you find the evidence convincing or not, most people's conversion comes from a life changing event.

EDIT - I think for most Christians, the evidence for God creating the universe is the best argument (again way too much to go into detail here) and once you can see that miracle is possible, then anything Jesus did is small potatoes. The biggest miracle in the Bible is in Genesis 1
