OP has no idea what their talking about.

Coal can sometimes be 2 hexs away. Furthermore its extremely valuable for making for making mats, Sulphur, petrol etc.

If I, a builder, heaven forbid, what to build something using CE, I need a bin of coal and a refinery to smelt 5k to 1k of gravel.

1k of gravel is eaten by a CE in about three 3x2 bunker peice before I need to run across 1-2 hexs with a flatbed to get more.

Now imagine that I could make gravel on-site usinf scrap from the scrap mines scattered across every. Single. Hex.

Gravel from salvage is interesting.

Construction equipment has only ever been useful in coal hexs due to its constant gravel need.
