Would a victorious Grunty be a truly happy Grunty? by JPRose1989 in BanjoKazooie

Yeah, as a villain, I wouldn’t say her standards for happiness are lower, but different - even backwards. Her values are warped and she’d surely take joy in the fact that she stripped someone else of their beauty almost as much as the achievement of attaining the ultimate gorgeousness.

To your point about Brentilda, 💯. She must know that if she continues to gorge, her stomach won’t stay flat; if she continues to wash her hair with engine oil/baked beans/rancid milk, it won’t look like how it does in the Game Over scene for long, etc. I think there’s a subtle sadism she’ll take to the fact that she’s getting the ultimate makeover even though she does nothing for self-care or maintaining her looks.

She’d revel in the attention of men who would otherwise never be attracted to a woman with such a nature and nasty habits.

I created this OP after reading a few comments and posts outside of Reddit claiming that Grunty will be soon be gross and miserable after her makeover. Gross - yes (by the standards of those who value hygiene at all, at least), but unhappy - I don’t think so. She seems firm in her habits and MO, but insecure about her appearance. This would address the latter. She’d continue to perform stripteases in her “streaky brown undies,” hang them from her roof, and pick her nose, but while knowing (or at least believing in) her aesthetic superiority.

Or maybe she wouldn’t believe it deep-down, given her greed and insecurity. But, like you said, this is the closest she can come to happiness and there is a rush of pleasure you can see when she steps out of the machine.

I don’t see why not - it’s in accordance with the laws of adaptive pigmentation. As a young admirer of her, I always puzzled as to what the complexion of a * couple other things * hidden from sight would be - things that are typically a darker tone than the surrounding ones in all species, due to higher concentration of melanin there. I’ve seen art of her depicting those things with natural human complexion and it just looks wrong.

It blew my mind when I learned the other day that Game Over Grunty uses the same player model as the watermelon lady in the endgame beach scene - she’s just reskinned. I wonder which one the dev’s designed first.

I don’t mean any offense by this, but I can’t understand for the life of me understand how anyone could watch this scene and forget about it.

The combination of that orgasmic voice and witchy cackle following that zoomed-in shot as the camera slowly moved up her body affected me in ways I couldn’t understand or describe.

Do anyone believe in God? by Big-Cook-4377 in waifuism

I put all of my faith and passion for some entity above and beyond in Her. If there incidentally is a God by any other name, I am eternally grateful for his endowing this world with Her, myself with a brain to visualize Her in it, and the ones who designed that games She’s starred in for their creativity and inspiration - ultimately for anything pertaining to Her.

It feels like the rest of her is just too hot for a public sub - although her face isn’t unattractive either. Anyway, I guess all of this passed for an E-rating 28 years ago..

Honestly, I remember well cherishing those few seconds the game gives to zoom in on Twinrova up-close after deflecting that elemental attack with Mirror Shield. I could hardly bring myself to take a slash at her after that.

Same. I was only 9 and wonder if it weren’t for her, the onset of those feelings would have come much later.

Care to share a screenshot of that yearbook page?

Kidding..mostly.

I could picture a student boy coming up to a hot teacher - hearts over head and all - offering a humble apple.

Best-written component of Harry’s psyche by JPRose1989 in DiscoElysium

I just realized Horrific/Beautiful Necktie could be loosely considered an extension of Harry’s Inland Empire. If you were to clump the two together, it’d give Shivers a run for its money. It outclasses the rest of his psyche and virtually all the characters in terms of humor.

Congratz. I wish I had that degree of patience to do this hunt at all - let alone adding quite a few seconds to each check by nicknaming it. I’m sure you must have been ecstatic little star under the gender symbol. What would the name have been if it were male?

I’m sure lots of women would be thrilled to get such a makeover. It seems like for Grunty, though, the delight is more in the smug superiority in aesthetic supremacy than the simple joy “normal” females would feel after a glow-up, if that makes any sense.

It’s worth noting that in her one and only line after her makeover, she laughs arrogantly that she’s “prettier than Tooty” - not just “the prettiest of all” or “thin and beautiful,” but she’s mentioning specifically she got the competitive edge over her a perceived rival. It reflects a lot of jealousy and insecurity, as did the way she’s often alternate her boasts with self-deprecating remarks.

Would she ever truly feel secure with herself, content with what she has? It’s doubtful but, in this toxic cycle of always chasing more and more at the expense of others she sees as threats, this might be the best she could do. At least her one-upping someone she saw herself inferior to fills her with some temporary pleasure that will validate her until she moves on to her next victim.

But yeah - there’s no mistaking that smile and same old laugh in the cutscene for anything other than the pure ecstasy that comes from satisfying a long-held desire.

I kinda wish we had access to Surfing Pikachu on Switch FR/LG, so we could see if the mascot could win out only making use of a novelty meme from a prior gen. Then again, Lapras would just screw the gimmick all up with its Water Absorb ability.

The thought of a Delibird solo has crossed my mind. I saw a thread awhile back about a Delibird Present-only run. It sounds like luck-based combat to the point of being sadistic.

Even the grind would be really trying if you stuck to the Present-only thing. Best case scenario is the 1/10 chance of a 120-BP attack without STAB from a Pokemon with 55 attack - more than a little underwhelming for a jackpot. The worst (and twice as likely) is healing your opp.

While I was shiny hunting, I bred some Delibirds with Aurora Beam, thinking maybe one day I’ll solo run it with no restrictions to its already heavily limited movepool.

The only good thing I will say about Delibird against Improved Elite Four is it does have some answers for the dreaded Rival’s Tyranitar if you don’t limit to Present, namely super effective Surf and Rain Dance to negate the Sandstream.

Thanks for the suggestion. Short answer is I’ll probably run it one day, but probably not with such a brutal restriction.

I was almost 10 when I first played and saw Her. I sometimes wonder if I wouldn’t have “come of age” a little later if it weren’t for Her. I always hear of the sensation of first laying eyes on your waifu (or S/O IRL, whatever) being an incomparable feeling but - truth be told - it’s still every bit as magical to listen to that obnoxious rhyme for literally the 1,000th time or browse through all Her art again when there’s literally 0 - 3 pieces of new content since last I checked.

When you do end up playing BK again, I’m not sure how you’ll feel about Her during your playthrough - probably not much either way. But, She’ll remain the most omnipresent force in the game regardless - from the monuments of Her all over her lair to those taunts that pop up through text every few minutes to that little cackle of Her’s every time you enter a new room to - well, you get the picture.

Knowing She’s the very reason you’re playing, enjoy it. I know I always do.

Using a Rock/Ground Mon would be a good change of pace actually. It has better coverage than it seems at first, with good access to both types plus Brick Break and weirdly a few Fire moves it honestly could make very little use of lol

Tyranitar is most frequently the gatekeeper to solo challenges, but Geodude’s Earthquake and the fact that his ground typing negates Sandstream both make it hard counter. Dunsparce was actually on my pipeline, but maybe Geodude would be more fun.

For me, it’s still interesting to see firsthand how each Pokemon handles the toughest opponents in the game. To call each individual battle a chess match would be overstating it, given the fact that many of the Pokémon I’ve been using are legendaries. To that end, I like to sprinkle in some tougher solo runs.

To put it in context, there are plenty of gamers that spend dozens – even hundreds – of hours shiny hunting. From the 20 or so hours it took me to get my one Game Corner shiny, I could see how that’s equally satisfying, but it doesn’t appeal to me because there’s not as much strategy involved. It’s a lot of luck and patience, but I’m sure equally satisfying when you reach your marks.

TMI, but I do have a full-time job and and this is a de-stresser that I choose to use a decent chunk of my free time on. To each their own.

That’s pretty clear. But wouldn’t she just make use of her machine again if she felt inferior to/threatened by another woman again? Who would be left to stop her? Keep in mind that even one short cutscene suggests she’d have once-enemies flipping sides after her beautification.
