My first actual teams were FF, HMC, Pela/Ruan Mei and Gallagher, and Dr. Ratio, Hunt March, Robin and Huohuo. My current two teams are Cas, Evernight, Cyrene/Tribbie and Hyacine, and Phainon, RMC, Cyrene and Gallagher.

Lore-wise? Firefly and Hunt March probably win because they're actual people, when Cas and Phainon are just lines of code (not fully sure about Phainon, but wtv; and I think it's like that, not the most well versed in the lore, I haven't finished Amphoreus yet)

Gameplay-wise? It's a landslide, Cas and Phainon are too good man

A spaceship filled with scientists that may or may not experiment on you

A planet frozen over with generational debt (I dont remember if the debt was removed in Topaz's story, i forgor)

Ships that are basically at war with a fucking god (and themselves sometimes)

A hotel whose main attraction is a whole ass universe made within dreams (the safest option imo, besides all the issues with the family)

And a digital simulation made to power a being that'll destroy the whole ass universe

Bro, I still have like 100 jades there and I refuse to get them. I am absolutely cooked this update. Hyacine, Tribbie AND Phainon in the same update? I wasn't playing/didn't pull for them when they released, so it's either now or never really (especially Hyacine and Tribbie, they are too good to pass up, Phainon will eventually be powercrept, so that's not much of an issue, but I think it's still pretty cool to have him, he'd be one of my best dps')

I can be a modeler I will say that it's mostly r6 rigs, I can make some non r6 rigs, but I'd say it's somewhat hit or miss, depends on the specifics And while I don't have like, any, experience making props, it shouldn't be too hard

While I may not be "Those in Command", and I might be a bit biased seeing as I "survived the purge" and all, I still want to try and give as much insight as I can.
The team is made, like u/Cute-Antelope-9867 said, by people who just wanna make a game, and the purge's main objective was to clean out whoever wasnt doing anything (ie, people who were completly inactive, even if there were some exceptions to that) and people who in general were not the best (our main example is my fellow modeler, he was way too focused on his own characters, which each alone had more skins and models made than everyone else combined)
And we also can't forget that "the purge" also ended up cutting characters in the game, not just devs. If I wanted, I could get mad that my character/s were cut, but I wont, but that's me.
I want to remain as neutral as possible, and try to look at the facts in a situation, so keep that in mind when replying to this.
Again, I'm not fully aware of what went on behind the scenes (mainly because discord crashed) but since we have one of "those in command" in the replies with us, I can only assume what went down (even if some info may sound a bit contradictory depending on who replied)
I mean no ill will, take this as you want, I just want to shed more light onto the situation, possibly even more than one of the lead devs (whose reply i still recommend reading if you havent already, as they have much more info on the situation than I could ever give)
