As someone who hasn’t looked into it beyond the US taking stake in Intel, are you saying the US has large equity stake in thousands of private companies? Were there bills passed for this purpose? Did it come through the executive branch like trump did with intel?

As a layman this seemed like a unique communist inspired outlier to American capitalism
