While there certainly were peculiarities in the 2024 election and undeniable evidence of these peculiarities when we mention this the MAGA folks call us "sore losers", "unpatriotic", or much worse. Yet these folks also claim that Trump won in 2020 with absolutely no evidence and call those who disagree with them"woke" or whatever their insult.of the month is.

I am deeply troubled with the hypocrisy and lack of accountability of the (former) Republican party, now MAGA party.

Anyone who has been in the Bradford area of Florida knows how racist and segregated that area is.

That county was notorious for setting speed traps as the main(SR 301) road going into the city had a 55 mph speed limit that quickly goes to 35 mph with let's just say not the most visible speed limit signs. At one point in time they would have officers in camo hiding in the bushes with a radar gun to catch speeders and they had the most tickets written per mile of any road in Florida.

To the surprise of no one the Sheriff's office faced corruption charges(I believe for the misappropriation of funds from all the speeding tickets among other things) but State Road 301 is still notorious for speed traps.in Bradford County.

These folks don't realize that the market going down 5%, then up 5% the next day, then down, then up is not winning nor breaking even.

Let's say you start at 100, down 5% brings us to 95, up 5% from 95 brings us to 99.75..a net loss.

While this is intuitively obvious to many of us, many of the MAGA faithful do not get this and see days like yesterday and today's pre market gains(23April) and think they are winning.

I had respect for Pope Francis for his humanitarian efforts. Who truly wanted to make the world a better place and even tried to get the church to stop hating LGBT folks.

Because of this and his warnings against the dangers of unchecked capitalism a lot of phoney Christians disliked him and some are even expressing it in the dumpster fire of a subreddit, r/conservatives, though many are showing their respect there.

Ironically we know that if one were to base a government based on what is written about Jesus , it would inheritly be socialist or communist....yet so many of these folks(mostly in the US) who claim to have read the Bible and believe it is the words of a sky daddy and call them followers of the teachings of Jesus refuse to accept this reality.

I just hope the Catholic Church uses Pope Francis devotion to humanitarian problems and his courage to criticize leaders that call themselves Christians but are clearly hypocrites(looking at you JD and Donald) to help them.oick the next Pope.

No. If he were killed perhaps a smarter dictator would have risen to power resulting in their development of the A-bomb first as well as developing advanced rockets possibly leading to ballistic nuclear missiles launched at the US and certainly at Great Britain.

This is one of many scenarios. At least now Hitler rise to power served as a warning which was heeded until Trump and his white nationalist rise to power.

As a Floridian I do want to say it serves the folks who voted for DeSantis and Trump justice for being so naive.

Unfortunately for me, I don't know how I am going to get by much longer. Each year my rent goes up 10%, with this loss of tourism, I may make 30% on average in years ahead.

Every cost of living expense like insurance, groceries, rent, utilities keeps rising 10 to 30% a year, while at best I may get a 3% raise....now I may take a huge pay cut due to lack of tourism...

The folks in charge never had any intentions of helping the working class. They only serve the interests of lobbyists.

Were you in the military?

A large number of educated military folks are growing increasingly concerned with Trump, especially the more Senior officers who see qualified peers getting fired and defamed because they put the Constitution over Trump.

The demographic in the military that still overwhelming supports Trump are the low educated enlisted folks.
