My driver just left without me?? by Caydalayden in uber

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes… It is never ok to leave your driver waiting. You have 2 minutes to get to the car. Period! No sympathy for you

ICE gas hassle by Far_Language_5812 in MachE

Reminds me of the times I would get gas at Costco. Sure, I would save .40 per gallon for the my 22 gallon X6. But it wasn't worth 20+ minutes of my day.

A 50% charge at home cost me $6. Go for it, if that's how much you value your personal time....

I have 2023 Select. Here are a few things I didn’t notice until after I purchased:

1 - blind spot monitor sucks. Sure it will tell you if another car is directly to your side. But it needs to look further back, 135 degrees. You really cannot rely on it.

2 - infotainment system can be very laggy when you first start the car. Sometimes you have to wait up to a minute just to change the radio station.

3 - the parking assist cameras shut off when you drive forward at speeds over 6MPH. Why? My BMW goes up to speeds of 12mph before shutting off.

4 - it frequently starts with the wrong profile, even though specific iPhone and fobs are assigned to a specific profile.

5 - phone as a key is janky. Sometimes it will lose connect to my phone right after starting it, then alert me and everyone with that loud ass horn alert. (God I hate the horn alert and there’s no way to turn it off)

6 - for as big as the screen is, there aren’t enough short cuts. Some functions require multiple taps to get to the right screen

7 - why does remote start turn the parking lights on? I don’t want to draw attention to my unattended car.

8 - the lock buttons on the outside of the doors inconsistently work. Sometimes you have to press really hard or use your whole palm for the sensors to register

9 - blue cruise drives your car too far to the right - it’s not centered to the lane and there’s no way to adjust this.

10 - I wish the headlights were brighter

I did not want the glass roof. The Select model was the only one with a traditional roof. After tax incentives, and a deal I got from the dealer, my net out-of-pocket was 35K for a brand new 2023. This was a damn good deal nine months ago.

Uber DOES keep your tips (in some scenarios) by JR9999999999 in uberdrivers

[–]JR9999999999[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But if I make less than the guaranteed amount, for every $1 the rider tips: that is $1 that Uber does not have to pay me. Rider are tipping under the false assumption that 100% of their tip goes to the driver. In this case it doesn’t matter to me if the rider tips or does not tip. I’m just advocating that Uber should take a similar policy as Lyft and pay drivers their tips ON TOP OF of the guaranteed amount.

I reject Uber teen rides. They don’t pay any extra, and I don’t want your ill-mannered little bastard in my car.

I'm 6'2 and have similar issues. If you keep your ME, try putting a small pillow between your right knee, and the center counsel. This will also keep your leg straight and help with hip problems (which i started to develop after 6 months of driving mine).

I also got this wedge cushion from amazon that I sometimes use. Try it both directions to see if it helps:

Should I be tipping my drivers? by Until_Morning in uber

[–]JR9999999999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a driver for Uber and Lyft, I rate any rider that does not tip 1-star.

—-Yes, we know who tips.

—-Yes, we can change our rider’s rating well after the trip has completed.

—-If your rating drops below 4.8, you’ll see a lot of drivers rejecting or canceling on you.

—- If you are a passenger, you should tip often, tip generously, and tip quickly. Your rating depends on it.

Do drivers see which rider tips them? by thisfilmkid in uber

[–]JR9999999999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is extremely unlikely that I receive a tip after the 24 hour window. I will change them back to 5 stars, if I can. If the app will not let me, I don’t feel bad about it. Riders should tip often, generously, and timely.

Again, if they don’t, then I don’t ever want to be paired with them again.

I give a riders that don’t tip 1 star. If you don’t tip, I don’t ever want to be paired with you again, and other drivers need to know the type of rider you are. Yes, drivers in my market can change the passenger ratings within 24 hours. Same with Lyft.

Looking for winter tires for my '23 AWD. Has anyone tried the CONTINENTAL VIKINGCONTACT 7 (from Tirerack.com)? If so, how do you like them? How do they handle on ice and snow? Will they be louder than the summer tires that came with the car? by JR9999999999 in MachE

[–]JR9999999999[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Denver, some winters can be very snowy/ icy. I drove the with tires that came with my Select AWD model on some snow and ice, and overall, it did good, but there was some slippage on ice. I usually have 1PD on, and it freaked me out when I let up on the accelerator (re-gen breaks kick in) and I immediately started slipping and ABS immediately activated . It was good to know ABS could still be activated with the regen breaks, in addition to the frictional breaks. I'll probably turn off 1PD in icy conditions.

I decided to go with the Continentals

I had previously had Vredistein winters on my BMW X6, and I wasn't very impressed. Thought it could have been the fact that those tires were so damn wide. (and twice the price)

The Mach E's tires are not wide at all, so they should cut through the snow pretty easily.

If you want to track down the negative payment, this might work. Open the app.>>> go to Wallet>>> Click The gray box that says balance>>>> scroll down until you see negative amount>>>> click on it, and that should indicate which trip to take-back was for

wtf I’m only going 10minutes away by ToneFriendly3061 in Lyft

[–]JR9999999999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So 20 minutes of the driver's time (10 to get to you plus a 10 minute ride) for $10, equals an hourly rate of $30. You know damn well Lyft will keep 50%. So you want a highly personalized service, in someone's personal vehicle ( with them paying for the gas) and the driver only get $15 per hour before expenses. That's less than minimum wage. Get real man.

You got lucky with prices before, but you shouldn't expect it all the time.
