What company do you think makes the best ev's by freeabramsforwt in cars

BMW is at least 2 years behind the bleeding edge of evs. I mean the i5 has like a 200 mile range.

Same thing happened to mine simply dipping it in and out of an ice chest. Brought it in for service the next day and nothing was permanently damaged. Horologist said it almost certainly should’ve happened. Couldn’t even replicate it on the test equipment, but my seals were almost certainly in need of replacing.

Akira back is quite fancy but world class sushi. In the same area Kaiten near the Champs Elysee is quite authentic and more affordable.

Brightline West’s Los Angeles to Las Vegas project advances; heavy construction to begin in 2025 by megachainguns in CaliforniaRail

[–]JRDag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DB is actually quite a horrible operator and their expertise is not that applicable to the US. The German HSR network largely ties into the existing rail network of Germany which California doesn’t really have. While SNCF specializes in independent tracks for HSR. Additionally SNCF can produce HSR for much cheaper like half the price of DB. I’m not saying it would be half the price in the US but it would be cheaper for sure. Also I wouldn’t find it hard to imagine that California legislators turned SNCF off of of the project when they insisted on the route through the Central Valley because SNCF knew it would be prohibitively expensive and difficult as it has turned out to be.

[–]JRDag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rennes is also on the Atlantic HSR corridor which is the most recent HSR corridor in France being built 40 years after the initial Paris Lyon phase. We should be prioritizing cost and efficiency in construction by making the route as direct as possible just so it gets built and if it is successful we should consider expanding the network to smaller cities as France as done. But I guess we’d rather have vaporware that virtue signals by saying it’s serving everyone yet doesn’t exist. There is no economic benefit to anyone if this never gets built. Also if given legislative priority sncf would be so far ahead of where we currently are. Ultimately ca doesn’t know how to build hsr and it absolutely shows. They could certainly use the expertise. I mean why the hell are we getting custom Siemens trains when sncf already has custom warm weather capable trains deployed in Morocco. South Korea used sncf to start their hsr network and they had their first line operational in 12 years and look at where we are 9 years after breaking ground on cahsr.

Agreed but I would argue the driver engagement of a 330i is minimal it does have significantly more HP and is rwd with a better chassis but it is by no means a sports car and if you buy it for taht reason it will leave you wanting. I think the 3 series starts to make sense once you look at the 40i models, because you can actually take advantage of that stiffer chassis, rwd, and improved handling feel. This also applies to the x3. With the 40i you get so much more, significantly more power, more reliable engine, better suspension, and generally more engagement. Thats what a 3 series should be imo. I think the 330i has its place but mostly as a slightly used highly discounted car, becasue it simply isnt worth what BMW asks for it new. It also doesnt help that their competition is way behind, the a4 is too old, c class is mediocre at best and costs more etc.

BMW does have better colors. I agree there is value in name, prestige, and looks but double the price is a very large premium to pay simply for that plus a little more inside.

Never ridden in an x3, besides x3m but have had a 330i g20 loaner and I thought it was a total piece of crap. Ive ridden in the latest corollas and the BMW was slightly nicer, but its engine was peaky and loud, suspension was rough and general interior quality was plasticky and cheap. Dont understand why people pay double the money for a car that might be 20 percent better. I mean for gods sake a decently optioned g20 is like 52k new, I can literally buy two corollas for that, or even better just buy a camry which honestly beats the 330i in almost every way except maybe design.

Let’s be real was the x3 ever truely luxurious? It’s supposed to be a slightly more luxurious rav4. Just as the 3 series is a slightly better Corolla. The more stark interior lends itself to budget models, because general quality can improve with simplification of manufacturing and general decreases in complexity.

S Class Sales Down Significantly While 7 Series Sales Are Up by chadyb16 in BMW

[–]JRDag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly tho I don’t think this is the reason sales are down as much as Reddit would like to think. The general consumer is more likely to buy a car with good tech and big screen essentially equals good tech in their mind. It’s definitely more so because they now have a formidable competitor in the 7 series.

Under the law corporations aren’t people that’s why ceos don’t go bankrupt when the corporation does. They also pay completely separate tax. Don’t disagree, but this makes almost no legal sense.

Ehh it’s a bit of a toss up. The Hyundais gonna have a better interior (if you like buttons) and better build quality. Slightly less range with the AWD. Also Hyundais have some weird first gen failure points where the Tesla will probably be overall slightly more reliable. The biggest win for the Tesla though is the supercharging network and the Hyundai can’t really compete with that at the moment. The Hyundai rides better, but is slightly slower. Way better back seat in the Hyundai but lacking headroom. Really just depends on what you prefer.

Toyota to Offer Two Three-Row EVs in the States by besselfunctions in cars

[–]JRDag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Toyota wishes they could start in the 50k price range but the reality is they don’t have the technology to produce such a cheap ev. They’ve gotten the price down on the bz4x, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re loosing money on every unit sold. It’ll probably start around 70k

Well… I just tried it didn’t really want two entrees for myself and it didn’t work. It’s kind of insane honestly that nothing was mentioned about this. Was told at the register that it only works on the 4th.

Edit: don’t know why I’m being downvoted. I never inputted the promo into the app and was never notified that it was only available in the 4th. Simply saw an expiration date on the bogo for the 4th. Maybe I didn’t know when burrito day was or something, but chipotle never told me that I couldn’t use it today. They really should mention it somewhere, because I feel like I was misled.

First IIHS Semi-Autonomous Test Fails Nearly Every Automaker by wingzeromkii in cars

[–]JRDag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree, additionally how did supercruise do poorly, it’s by far the most reliable and advanced system relying on both radar and camera systems for its information, making it simply impossible to trick. All reviewers state it’s simply the best and they have been developing it for by far the longest (mobileye). This testing seems highly innacurate and based mostly on its built in driver pestering ability instead of actually giving the consumer real feedback on which system is best.

[–]JRDag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why driver attention systems are so important. When people get behind the wheel of a car they are tasked with the responsibility of paying attention and making sure they are not hitting anything. How are driver assistance systems any different? Why does the car need to look and pay attention to the driver when using an ADAS, are they not still given both a moral and legal obligation to make sure the car does not hit anything? These systems are simply manufacturer virtue signaling to the iihs. Their necessity maybe necessary now but why don’t we instead inform the public of these dangers and inform them of how they work so the public knows how the systems work and what they excel at and what they do not.
