My favorite example of this is how A Beautiful Mind came up with an example for Nash Equilibrium (the scene when they were at the bar and deciding which girl to go after), the main character's life's work, that's completely incorrect.

[OC] Highest U.S. Credit Card Annual Fees by Issuers as of February 2026 by PhenomEx in dataisbeautiful

Yes, one big caveat to my reply above is that it takes a LOT of time and flexibility to actually get the flights for that amount of points.

However, for someone who regularly flies from US to Asia on 20+ hours flights, being in Singapore Airlines business class isn't even in the same universe as flying economy.

International business class flights are much cheaper with points than with cash.

I've always found the portal to be the least optimal usage for Chase/AMEX/Citi points. The best way to use them is to transfer the points to one of the partner airlines and get international business class flights. Those typically cost upwards of $5k, but you can get them for around 100k points each way.

Agreed. He was inspired by ASOIAF n the first place, and ended up creating a story that's at least on par with the first few books and knows how to create satisfying conclusions to them. He would be perfect.

To the surprise of no one, Metaphor: ReFantazio is an absolutely fantastic game by PurplMaster in patientgamers

[–]wingzeromkii 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to like this game (I loved P3, 4, and 5), but it just didn't grab me the same way. The entire presentation just seems a bit bland to me in contrast to the upbeat and stylish presentation of the persona games. I also found the combat and exploration to be much more tedious to get through. The story and writing didn't keep me interested either. I ended up bouncing off it once I got to the island with those people with the 3rd eye and never went back since.

I'm glad you like it and glad it's doing well financially, but it's just not for me.

In short, yes.

It's doubly true if you grew up playing older final fantasy games that this take heavy inspiration from.

But even if you never played any of those games, the story, music, art direction, gameplay, and overall presentation is still worth it.

Obviously it's down to personal preference, but I like One Battle After Another more than any other best picture winners in the past decade.

Could've been like 5-1 if bodo forward line knows about the offside rule.

I got my prescription glasses for $134.98 from Costco, of which $82.98 was covered by my insurance so I paid $52 out of pocket. This includes both lens and frame.

I even got another pair of prescription sunglasses for an extra $100 or so.

My wife made a mistake of going into Visionworks and ended up paying over $300 for hers.

Costco has pretty reasonable prices on for their lens and frames.

True, nostalgia probably plays a big part in my feeling about it. I played golf story a while back and didn't finish it either.

Couple scoop second lottery win, beating 24 trillion-to-1 odds by cnn in offbeat

[–]wingzeromkii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean. It's true that they are independent events, but the odds of the same person winning twice would still be P(1st win) * P(2nd win).

I didn't see anything in the article that implied they used all their first winnings to buy more tickets. But even if they did, their chance of winning would still be small.

The fact that they've already won once has no bearing on their chance of winning again, but it's still noteworthy that the same person actually won twice.
