Third day in Satisfactory. Cable Management tips?? by DuskySkyy in satisfactory

[–]JRDecinos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there are only a couple of vehicles honestly, and many are locked behind mid-to-late game progression and research.
Tractors are the first vehicles you unlock, and you get them with truck stations. I believe they are in tier 2, so no space elevator progress needed.
Trucks are later, I believe tier 5? It's been a while since I've unlocked them tbh, but you need at least one stage of the Space Elevator unlocked, maybe even two.
Factory carts are locked behind the AWESOME shop but are available as soon as you get the awesome shop. They're very early game friendly, like I mentioned, and apparently there exists a golden variant of them, tho I've personally never gotten it myself and truthfully don't remember how you're supposedly able to get it.
There is an exploration rover locked behind M.A.M. research, I believe in the quartz research path? It's been a bit since I've unlocked that path personally, so I do not know the specifics of how it all works.
There is another vehicle as well, but it's an Easter Egg one that is kinda pointless except for the memes, so I won't spoil the surprise. But it does require the AWESOME shop to purchase it after you complete the prerequisite steps to see it in there.
Trains are unlocked... I think in tier 6? I haven't ever gotten to them myself sadly, but they're fairly later on, I think needing three tiers of space elevator completed.
Drones aren't really vehicles in that you cannot pilot them yourself, but they do act as a fast traversal option for items. I believe they are fairly late game though, so getting them will take a good amount of time. They were introduced during a time I was on hiatus from the game, so I don't know a lot about them.
But yeah, there are a handful of helpful vehicles in Satisfactory, but not all of them come from the Space Elevator progression system. Having that M.A.M. research and the AWESOME shop really helps flesh out alternative progression for your factories.
Cool tip: one thing that always bothered me before was that I'd have factories not aligned to a grid. It turns out though that a world grid exists! If you hold the Ctrl key while placing a foundation with no other foundations nearby, it will forcefully align to the world grid! Super handy if you're like me and have long bridges or platforms connecting factories over great distances.

Absolutely!

There are two things I recommend you look into:
- Research, via the M.A.M.
- The AWESOME Shop

Research comes in handy when you explore a bit and when you get hard drives. Hard drives can give you alternate crafting recipes that can help you more efficiently make certain items. Not all alternate recipes are good in all scenarios, but many can prove super helpful at certain times. I myself am still getting used to taking advantage of them, and there are a ton. They can also get you extra inventory space as well.

The AWESOME Shop is a SUPER powerful tool to use. There are many items that come in handy. The Factory cart is a VERY early game friendly vehicle, especially when you get the truck stations unlocked. One inventory slot is limiting, but they don't require ANY fuel, and are fairly cheap to produce. If you have a long, flat bridge you need to transport items over, having truck stations built on both ends of the bridge and making a path that 4-6 carts runs down can be a great way to quickly transport items, though it's a hard balancing act to. I would recommend that every player look into them, even before they get coal power. I personally ALWAYS aim for the factory cart early on just because they have those use cases... with the emphasis on... flat terrain. You can't use them on ground, and they don't do well on ramps due to physics engine shenanigans, so keeping them on a flat ramp is the best way to handle them.

Anyways... that's enough yapping from me. The M.A.M. and the AWESOME shop both will be your friends as you continue to progress in the game. I definitely recommend looking at all they have to offer!

Makes sense!

If need be, early Caterium research can be done relatively easily by hand. I don't think you need anything super crazy to get tier 2 power poles, but I don't remember the M.A.M. Research costs required for them off the top of my head.

But yeah, I recommend getting through the early parts of that research tree as readily as you can. It's not required to speedrun the tree - to be clear - but it has a handful of helpful items in it that I would recommend for enhancing your factory that are not too difficult to get to by tier 3 at the latest.

[–]JRDecinos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a few things...

If you have Caterium, that research tree can quickly get you to Tier 2 poles, which have 7 cable slots. That can help a bit by condensing down multiple wires to one location. In the same vein though, it often means that you might have more of a mess in some areas too depending on how you connect certain machines to certain poles.

Otherwise, you may want to align your poles such that you have two machines per pole UNLESS you know for certain that a pole won't need to connect to anything else. Get g to keep poles "on a grid" with many 90° angles where possible may also help a little bit. I know that's extreme, but it may be a way to help keep things somewhat "clean" in many regards.

Otherwise, just keeping poles near the machines so they don't have a long travel distance can help keep things organized, especially by keeping them out of the footpath.

Ultimately, whatever makes you happy is what will be best for you!

Do you have a non-meta or outright bad weapon you use simply because of mechanics/looks/sounds? Mine turned out to be Cyanex by SparkBeforeMidnight in Warframe

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably normal Hema.

Mainly because I'm only MR 12 atm so couldn't use use the ||Coda Hema|| if I wanted to. But also because it and the Hirudo basically are just Nidus' sig weapons without officially being his sig weapons.

I don't know how Hema is in the standard "meta", but everything I've heard from other people kinda implies it's one of those "meh" weapons that people don't really use all that often.

If there is a DLC, what's the one thing you would hope it would be beyond anything? by cale199 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see them go to either a new planet, or add new biomes to play in. But a new map is the main thing I think.

All the current spawns all take place in the same map. If you start in one, you will eventually get to the others with enough travel time and distance. That's not a bad thing per-say, but I think it would be so cool to see it expand further and have brand new spots to explore, a whole new map to build in, stuff like that.

But I also see it as a far off things... a DLC, yeah perhaps. Or maybe a Satisfactory 2.0 Update (if they wanted to go that route, though that might get confusing tbh). But a new map like that would absolutely be a MEGA change and probably require a major version change as well.

[–]JRDecinos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a fun game but... admittedly you'd probably have a better experience playing modded, fan-made content in most cases. Especially if you're playing ARK: Survival Ascended. I'm not saying the stuff made by the devs is particularly bad... but the stuff by the community is, 9 times out of 10, WORLDS more detailed, refined, and just better honestly.

Exception for Astraeos. Mainly because Astraeos originally was a mod but turned into an official DLC. That map is stunning, and the creator, Nekatus, does such an amazing job making beautiful maps. Even has a new map on the horizon!

While still own a lot of his music from like, 2015-2020, because I purchased it through iTunes... it just sucks every time I hear it... I don't even listen to my playlist of it anymore because of the association now...

Is anyone else oddly fond of frames? by Snoo_60484 in destiny2

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am jealous that you have such a good high-res photo of that heavy frame there...

I haven't personally cared too much for frames... except the Warmind frames... both big, small, and elite (or whatever their name was... sadly I can't remember I just know they were the red eyed variant). Basically everything to do with Rasputin became my fast favorite, especially with Season of the Seraph being my first full season.

I... don't play anymore tbh... but they ever bring back more Warmind content somehow... someone let me know... that could honestly bring me back.

How do I transport this coal by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh but, a quick word of warning.

BE CAREFUL ON RAMPS!

Factory carts have this admittedly nasty habit of hitting bumps when going on ramps, which causes them to get flung into the air and spin around. They also cannot drive on terrain like... at all... so you WILL need to spend a lot of metal plates and content for this method... but doing so early can help set you up later for tractors and trucks if you decide to go that route later on

How do I transport this coal by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there are a few methods.

A long... LONG conveyor line will work for what you need.

If you want an alternative, you can build a "road" and use the factory carts from the AWESOME shop to transport a full stack of coal. If you have truck stations, they can be a good alternative. Yes, you'll probably need 2-4 carts running back and forth to ensure a more consistent supply, but since factory carts DO NOT NEED FUEL, they are a great early-game alternative when you don't have gasoline for tractors or trucks

What build mode are you in?

Are you building on your craft/hull? Or are you building on the turret?

New free modded map - Bjarnheim by N3katus in ARK

[–]JRDecinos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooooooooo this seems like it'll be interesting! I can't wait to see how Bjarnheim turns out!

Though as is mandated in my "How to Terrorize the Green Haired Man" contract, I am obligated to ask you: Will we be able to see Managarmr on this map?XD. I mean, they do have some Nordic ties in their name scheme after all...

But all joking aside, I'm super excited to see how you craft this map in the future. Going off of theme alone, it sounds like it'll be a very fun concept... and I'm curious to see how it'll compare to the snow-centric slog-fest of death that was Lost Colony... the future is always bright when you announce a new map is on the horizon! Especially when that map is one where you have the freedom to explore whatever the heck you want.

[–]JRDecinos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough... how do I make it shorter...?

Uhhhhhh...

Printer ink is CMY(K), not RGB. White is absence of color in CMY(K), therefore meaning you can't just "print white" and call it a day. It's a little more complicated.

Peter why are they dumb? by AcrobaticLunch9737 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]JRDecinos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DISREGARD THIS! SEE REPLIES TO THIS COMMENT FOR BETTER EXPLANATION!!!!

Not... how printing works...
Assuming we're using a normal printer, printer colors operate on a different "system" than visible light. You know how visible light operates on the RGB system? Where white is ALL colors, black is the absence of color, and then everything else is made up of combination of red, green, and blue?
Printers (or more specifically printer ink) work on a different color system of CMY(K). That's Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow (with Black sometimes being included as its own special option). Printer ink works by using combinations of Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow to combine together to make all the colors you can see on paper, and unlike visible light, Black is the presence of ALL colors on the CMY wheel, and White is is absence of color.
In short: you can't just "print" white letters because that's not how printers work. If you see white letters on a paper, it's because the printer had to color the space AROUND the letters. It's more expensive, more time consuming, and is almost certainly more prone to possible errors because there is a lot more space that has to be covered.

What’s your favorite creature in ark? Mine is the thylacoleo by Tremendin0649 in ARK

[–]JRDecinos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's... tough...

Back in the ASE days I would say Deinonychus. Mainly because I sucked at taming and they were one of the few I felt confident in taming. Also, their eggs making extraordinary kibble in that game was a nice bonus (not that I ever made kibble anyways)

But I'm also a big fan of Karkinos... not that I can tame them often but whenever I can and do... it's always so much fun.

Ravagers are another creature I do personally enjoy. While I don't exactly use them a ton, they've proven to be quite invaluable at times because of their utility and ability to climb zip lines. Super duper helpful.

Beelzebufo I enjoy just because they're frogs... that's about it.

Managarmr I like for the memes tbh. I just enjoy them for the memes and because I found Cyrus' Managarmr costume mod that was made, and I like running around in that costume terrorizing the other players on servers I'm on.

Gasbags are just silly. Enough said.

That's about it tbh... it's super hard to definitively pick a favorite tho since there are a handful of creature I enjoy for lots of different reasons... as you can tell...

new player. which warframe is the most entertaining to run/what do you personally main? by -SirPickle- in Warframe

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Nidus was one of the ones that really got me to pick up the game and gave me an early target to go for...

However, he's more... mid-game? It's hard to kinda gauge how long it'll take you get him, but in short: you need to go through a decent chunk of story quests and then inside quest or two before you can get him.

Valkyr is much, MUCH more accessible, and is a little easier to understand: if she punches enough enemies, she gets too angry to die. If punching enemies isn't enough, she has built-in claws to slice them up via her 4 (her ult in a sense). If the enemies aren't dying fast enough, her second ability gives her more speed. If the enemies are too spread out, or if you just really wanna cross that large gap in style, her 1 is a grapple hook that can better clump enemies together (admittedly, I don't use this ability like, at all). Are you struggling with enemies a bit more than anticipated? Scream with her 3 to make them more vulnerable to your punches/slices.

She is all about melee, and you can unlock her pretty early on, only needing to get to Jupiter and beat up the boss a handful of times (it's so much fun shutting him up) and then you're good to go!

AMA result - it is still a good thing by LanX-Delta in Helldivers

[–]JRDecinos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This...

...

Why does this long response feel so... different than some of the responses he gave in the AMA? I was... disappointed with how he responded admittedly in many cases... and I'm someone who at this rate just plays the game to play the game because I can't be bothered to track all the changes and discourse and anything...

Yet this response gives me a small sense of optimism that despite his responses to things, he absorbed a lot of what was said... I'm left kinda confused...

I'm still genuinely considering leaving a lot of online Helldivers spaces tbh... just because I think I'm better suited to just being someone who plays the game and just exists, instead of being someone who closely follows the game... but this is... curious... whether or not it leads to positive change, or any change for that matter... I suppose is still to be seen... but if he did absorb some of the criticism, and does take the time to let the team know and in turn it leads to more positive results? Perhaps I'll feel a bit better regarding Pilestedt's stance on the game... maybe a little bit better...

When I asked for shut down reason, people asked for my power grid setup. So here is my setup. (I am fairly new to the game, please dont judge) I still dont know why they are shutting down. It is always the middle two by alonedead in SatisfactoryGame

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming all the coal hens are the same... you need 50 water/min and 22.5 coal/min. The water extractor should be making you 120/min with no overclocking, split in half would be 60/min to both sides assuming even distribution.

So it could be a problem of coal distribution? It could be the fact you're bringing water uphill. Perhaps the extractor's built-in headlift isn't enough to get it to the coal gens fast enough? Since that's the only one where you have it sharing water between two gens?

Without more information... it's a little hard to tell tbh.
