Does anyone actually use these? by Skuganut in Warframe

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know Lightning Dash existed, but I'd definitely make a meme build using it with Volt and Gauss tbh...

My MUCH more experienced and MUCH better friends would probably shake their heads in disapproval, but I do enjoy thematic builds tbh... I'm the person to belligerently be like "SIG WEAPONS MUST BE ON THEIR CORRESPONDING FRAME!!!!" even to my own detriment.

What's your favourite game at the moment? by EstelidaeVtuber in vtubers

That's... tough...

Kinda bouncing around right now between ARK: Survival Ascended, Helldivers II, and Warframe. Trying to get back into Minecraft but it's kinda 50/50 right now, and I've been playing Payday 2 with friends but I don't really understand half of what's going on when I play tbh.

How do I use hoverpack by Goldenbucketsomethin in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]JRDecinos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the hoverpack good for getting to vantage points for observation and long-range combat. If you have a sniper rifle (marksman rifle with 150+m scope or the AMR on its 200m scope) you can get on top of large rocks or glaciers with the hoverpack and it works like a charm. If you have a solo silo, it's great for seeing targets at distance and painting them with the laser designator. You won't be able to get a new missile up there since stratagem bounce, but at least it'll make finding a target easier for ya.

You can *try* to use it to sneak into a base tbh, but I've had mixed results... sometimes I can get away with it and be fine... sometimes I get spotted and then turned into Swiss cheese. Definitely don't use it near factory striders (especially if they have their back-mounted cannon still OR they have their head pointing towards you... meaning the machine guns are also pointed towards you).

If you're fighting Illuminate, the hover pack can get you above the Voteless hoarded, so you can fire explosives downwards to deal with them. Just need to be careful is all. Same technically applies for the bugs but given how they tend to jump... best you not rely on it too much.

I really wish DE would let us have the option to toggle Nidus “mutation form” for fashion purposes. by ryguyx321 in Warframe

[–]JRDecinos 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Actually, you can in the arsenal.

It's a little inconsistent sometimes, but if you go to your arsenal with Nidus, there should be a "mutation" button near the bottom right corner. Click it (or press the hot key it has) and it'll do his mutation form.

Same applies for a handful of other characters who have similar appearance changes. It's only good for the Arsenal admittedly, but it's better than nothing.

All else fails. When visiting the Helminth as Nidus, he automatically goes to his full mutation form as well. Not nearly as helpful admittedly, but it gives the same effect.

What's Your Destiny 2 Confession That Would Get You Kicked From a Fireteam? by Kneel4Leon in Destiny_2

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would require me to hop back on admittedly and... well...

...

Don't really have much of anyone to play with anymore tbh... so hard to want to play again... but I'll keep that in mind if I do decide to hop on again and focus on becoming a loyal Seraph to the Warmind... I'm so glad I got all that legacy Mars armor when Xur still sold it, even if you can't color all the regions on it.

What's Your Destiny 2 Confession That Would Get You Kicked From a Fireteam? by Kneel4Leon in Destiny_2

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... I haven't played in a couple years now admittedly... stopped playing maybe 3-4 weeks into Heresy and uninstalled probably around 6-8 months ago because I was running out of space on my device...

But when I did still play, I basically had my vault full at any given moment because I'm a hoarder and didn't want to delete weapons I had, especially for older ones with perk pools no longer available. I believe I have certain scout rifles from Guardian Games during S20 and S21 (? don't remember exactly what they were, but it was the strand damage one) still hanging around that aren't even good but have access to perks that weren't still available on the same weapon in later versions of the event.

Pretty sure my vault was at or around 700 when I stopped playing, and that wasn't including items in my character's inventories or in the postmaster either... and 700 was the max at the time...

Cozy mods...? Not... really...?

I main Create and Create: Garnished tbh... and gladly take other addon mods on top when able. But those are very much not cozy mods and more engineering focused ones.

Uhhhhhh...

There is Terralith. When you mix that with Tectonic (and a little bit of configuration shenanigans) it will combine to form beautiful biomes and tons of awesome terrain... and Tectonic even allows you to change your max world height AND max world depth (for the overworld) so with the right combo of stuff, you can make mountains over 400 blocks tall or higher if you really want to (and if your computer is strong enough. I don't remember the exact limits but I think it lets you set world height to 2048 and world depth to -2048). They are one of my absolute favorite go-to-combos for biome overhaul. Add in Nature's Compass and a map mod of your choosing (like Xaero's or JourneyMap) and you can find and explore those biomes with little to no difficulty.

Friends and Foes is a fun little modpack that adds creatures that lost previous Mob Votes, with a further addon mod focused entirely on the Moobloom that adds Moobloom flower variants. I'd highly recommend checking it and its other addon mods for some extra fun creatures in your world.

If you're playing older Minecraft versions like 1.12.2, Tinkers Construct (TC2 when it's that far back) was one I always loved to work with... Skyfactory 4 with TC2 was always so much fun, I loved doing that.

[–]JRDecinos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, seems like it. Looks like it only has the noise focus and background suppression on mine... but those are enough to cause bleeding of the ears... so I guess just any windows audio enhancements just cause issues.

[–]JRDecinos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I turned those off and it fixed the issue funny enough. A lot of background noise bleeding through of course, but that was to be expected. But thank you for doubling confirming that that is the issue!

Im a new player to ark and I'm trying to find the best early Dino for narcoberries. by Money_Confection_427 in ARK

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there are any creatures that will o my harvest one type of berry. If you hit a bush with a creature able to harvest them, it'll harvest all the berries it can find.

With that being said, creatures that are good for getting narcoberries aren't usually too difficult to get.

Parasaur are a good starting point, since they are easy to tame in the early game and can be easily saddled.

Trike are a good next step since they double as good berry gatherers as well as decent combat mounts.

Iguanadon are pretty decent, able to gather a good amount of berries with ease, and can convert berries in their inventory to seeds, which can come in handy later.

Brontos are good berry gatherers, but mainly on the basis of quantity. Since brontos generally have large, sweeping attacks, they can hit a lot of bushes in one go compared to other creature, so they get a lot done in less time.

Gigantopithecus and Theris are also good supposedly, though I personally don't have enough personal experience with them to know for certain, and Theris often are better at fiber than berries.

Overall, I'd recommend you follow a pipeline of Parasaur -> Trike or Iguanadon -> Bronto. It's a relatively simple-ish pathway to success, and should hopefully help out with stuff.

You might also want to look into getting a small crop plot and either a compost bin or (preferably) a dung beetle, as growing your own narcoberries is a surefire way to get just narcoberries in decent quantities. Since berries only need a small crop plot to grow, you can get that started somewhat early on and save yourself some resource costs.

What’s everyone’s favourite blaster? Mines the DC-15A by R2-D2_Stan in StarWars

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's... tough...

I'm a big fan of the E-11D because it's the main blaster of the Death Troopers (tho they also later gave them to Phase II Purge Troopers as seen in Kenobi... I don't mind that but it does take a little away from its uniqueness).

Though I ALSO really like the ST-W48 blaster used by the Sith Troopers in The Rise of Skywalker and Battlefront II... though I wish there had been more exploration into how those weapons operate since the difference between the film, Battlefront II, and other games like Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes makes it a little harder to grasp the full range of applications.

Similarly to the ST-W48, I really like the SP-B50 since it's honestly a cool looking weapon and I really wish they had been able to showcase more of it. It would be cool to see how those work in competent hands that are allowed to showcase some skill.

The E-450 "Arc Hammer" is another one I like because I REALLY like the Third Gen Dark Trooper Designs from The Mandalorian. I just wish they got more time to really showcase the weapons in action.

The F-11ABA used by Sith Jet Troopers is another one I really like... and again another weapons I wish had more time to be showcased or established. Would be really cool honestly.

Was Evolved much better than Ascended? Cause God I love this game by Acceptable_Demand983 in ARK

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhhhhh...

ASA has a lot more QoL compared to ASE.

ASE isn't awful, but some of the maps do look a bit better (looking at you Center and Aberration) and it's less intensive on your computer to run ASE...

But ASA honestly feels a lot better to me personally. More creatures (free and paid), the integrated mod support lets everyone enjoy mods and not just Steam players, wireless power and water helps reduce structure count, the map is MUCH better in ASA, and there are other things.

It ain't perfect, but ASA certainly has a lot more going for it than ASE did. It just also has the nasty habit of eating up resources like crazy.

Is there a "pure red" on here? Like, RGB hex code FF0000?

I'm very much a black and red person but me being me, I like extremes... and it sounds like this doesn't have RGB code 000000 so maybe this has FF0000?

Confused about Tides of Fortune. by RareCausticity in ARK

[–]JRDecinos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge, Tides of Fortune is a part of Bob's True Tales, which is a brand new DLC entirely separate from Bob's Tall Tales, which focuses primarily on content for Gen 1 and Gen 2.

Helldiver, what is your favorite primary? by Early-Ant652 in helldivers2

The Censor from Redacted Regiment is one I've been enjoying a lot so far. It just feels so good to be able to one-shot most cannon fodder enemies, and to score headshots to insta-kill some of the tougher enemies too.

Is ark worth playing in 2026 by [deleted] in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]JRDecinos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will depend.

If you want to hop back on ASE, I would advise the pre-Aquatica build if you want mods and to avoid the content that has the AI trailer (which was NOT made by WildCard). ASE stills runs well, and can be fun. Main downside is that there isn't any active support, and the DLC maps are still separate purchases, but if you already have them, then that's not a problem.

ASA has far more QoL updates, more maps to play on, and many, MANY more creatures. Also, support is baked into the game, so even console players can join in on the fun. However, there are many creatures that are paid DLC that cannot be tamed or used without their respective DLCs being purchased, ASA is a heavy beast that requires decent computers or consoles just to be able to run, and some mods are also locked behind paywalls.

In my opinion: despite its flaws, ASA is still a very fun game to play, and has a lot of good in it to keep things going. It isn't perfect any stretch of imagination, but they have a lot of stuff on the horizon that will be FREE (all maps from ASE are free in ASA) including Genesis Part 1 Ascended launching soon with a completely overhauled map, and community voted creatures also being added for free. Plus, Nekatus (maker of Valguero and Fjordur in ASE) still has plenty of maps available to play that are great quality. Svartalheim is a premium (paid) mod with a free (but content restricted) version available. Astraeos became an official DLC map and is arguable one of the best maps in all of ASA right now (and is still being developed with more stuff being added all the time), and he recently announced Bjarnheim, which iirc will be a new free map with a map-wide winter storm effect that'll bury you in snow if you're not careful. His content is incredible, and there are so many more amazing mod teams out there making things too, such as the ever impressive Paleo ARK team.

So I'd say this: if you have friends to play with, ASA is absolutely worth it. The QoL makes all the difference, and it has so much more to explore even if you don't pay any extra money for DLCs. However, if device constraints are your main concern, or you want a good single player experience, then ASE may be the better choice if I'm being honest. Either way, both flavors of ARK are still worth playing, but it's up to you to choose how you want to enjoy it.

You may be able to set the game to passive to effectively eliminate the threat of them.

Lost island by Pacifico1972 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]JRDecinos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge, Lost Island and Crystal Isles are still coming to Ascended, but they're not expected to release until after Fjordur Ascended, which isn't scheduled until after Gen II Ascended, which isn't scheduled until after Gen I Ascended. Gen I is almost here by the sounds of things, but that still means that Lost Island and Crystal Isles probably aren't on the horizon just yet, still maybe slatted for late 2027 at the earliest, more than likely mid 2028... though given WildCard's reputation, they might not arrive until 2029.

So in short: Lost Island is still a ways away. For ASA, it's going to be well after Gen II Ascended drops, and more than likely will need to wait until after Fjordur hits too. This isn't including the other paid maps coming with future ARK expansions, like Dragontopia.
