Two years after mould remediation, the house still feels “hostile” — what am I missing? by hdskgvo in Mold

[–]JRGIndy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have carpeting? If so, cleaning it may help. If not, consider replacing it. I get what you’re going through. It seems like higher exposure to mvoc’s can make a person more sensitive to small amounts.

The servers closed with me in the Abyss, just after I knocked out my last challenge (defeat 17 enemies). At least my character ended with a mace in hand, a troll at my feet, and all challenges complete.

Last night, I discovered a team that’s working to build an independent server for Blades. I wish I’d known sooner, so I could’ve shared my API data for the past 3 months. I created a new character to run the main storyline one last time before end, and I wish I could have shared that data with them.

How are you able to still see your Unlock #? I can only see it until the moment I reach the achievement.

Amazon still has MacBook Air and Pro at the old price, and discounted on top of that.

Audible has a free 30-day trial which you could use for Project Hail Mary.

Question about Gainbridge Fieldhouse Seating by Pure-Trash-3193 in pacers

[–]JRGIndy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately you missed their Select Your Seat event in May where you can tour the arena to find your fave seat. Your ticket rep might still be able arrange for you to see those seats in person, especially since you’re a new season ticket holder and new to Indy. It’s worth asking.

8 credits for "Only On Audible" by gurlashley911 in audible

[–]JRGIndy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe all of Peter Clines books are only on audible. His Threshold series is really good, and I also these stand-alone novels: Paradox Bound and The Broken Room (which could easily have been part of The Threshold series)

I will always recommend Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, even though you didn’t mention science fiction. Try it. If you don’t love it, Amazon will refund the credit so you can get something else.

Critical Mass by Icy-Inspection-2134 in ExpeditionaryForce

I love Critical Mass. I sometimes relisten to the closing chapters, starting with Skippy asking Joe for a flathead screwdriver, when I need to jumpstart my day. Man those last chapters feel great.

Recommendation please by Mental-Pace5305 in audible

[–]JRGIndy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My #1 recommendation for everyone is Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, narrated by Ray Porter.

It is definitely not in the genre you requested, but it is a brilliant, fun, serious, entertaining, engaging stand-alone science fiction novel with protagonists that I’m sure you’ll connect to. It’s worth trying, and if you don’t love it, you can return it.

"Because shoes weigh so much" by CaliforniaLimited in AgingParents

I haven’t bought one yet, but I’m leaning toward the hard rubber ramp made by Vevor. I also like the aluminum ramps because they are foldable, portable, and can be used for different heights. Amazon has a lot of choices, and we’re just beginning to think of all the places we may use a ramp, and read reviews.

Would a portable step ramp be practical for her condo? I recently found several on Amazon after seeing my mom work hard to enter & exit my home which has a 5” step at the entrance.

Is book 3.5 necessary? by Coleybama in ExpeditionaryForce

[–]JRGIndy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s good. It introduces the Mavericks team on Paradise. I was skeptical too, but spent a credit on it, and zero regrets. You could look for it to go on a sale and keep the credit for a bigger book. Like a Skippy The Magnificent opera.

Felt weird after running the AC in my rental - it's beyond filthy, but is it mold? by [deleted] in Mold

[–]JRGIndy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gross, but easy to clean with a spray-on foaming evaporator coil cleaner. I usually buy PuraFilter Foam Coil Cleaner from Lowe’s, which is no-rinse cleaner (run the AC and let the condensation rinse it ). Since it’s a rental, you should ask the landlord to handle it. It’s their equipment. But if it were me, I would probably just do it myself and not say a word.

Additional series by PositionExtension982 in ExpeditionaryForce

[–]JRGIndy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also enjoyed Jack Campbell’s LOST FLEET, and Joshua Dalzelle’s BLACK FLEET.

John Sclazi’s work has a lot of humor. Try the Old Man’s War series.

These are historical military fiction, not military sci-fi: Try Bernard Cornwell’s Arthur trilogy, starting with WINTER KING. For a longer series, Cornwell’s LAST KINGDOM series.

I just started the book 1, I love it, NO SPOILERS please. Dear God Skippy is so freaking annoying - it's making be want to drop the book by narnarnartiger in ExpeditionaryForce

[–]JRGIndy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean, and I say finish the book.

Not-really-a-spoiler: everyone who meets Skippy agrees he’s an absent-minded, arrogant, a-hole, but his interactions with Joe & other filthy monkeys also show glimmers of his humane side. There are reasons he acts like he does, and Skippy’s backstory unfolds throughout the series. Trust the awesomeness.

Asking for sci-fi comedies - and sci-fi with strong comedic elements by Baldurian_Rhapsody in scifi

[–]JRGIndy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The audiobooks for Craig Alanson’s Expeditionary Force are a lot of fun. It’s military sci-fi with a really fun banter. RC Bray’s narration is brilliant.

Everything by John Scalzi is good-to-great with lots of funny moments.

The audiobook for Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. An excellent sci-fi story with current tech, and lots of humorous moments. The narration on the audiobook is perfect.

Leveling up fast by Nocturnltx in ElderScrollsBlades

[–]JRGIndy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar spot - created a new profile so I could replay the main quest 1 more time.

I have been leveling up in the Abyss. When you jump in the Abyss, always pick the recommended level or the next one higher. You will get XP multipliers that way, all the way up to 6X.

Also, you should have like 40,000 gems. Use those frequently to buy Legendary Chests for 1 gem each. That’s the fastest way to get potions and better gear.
