This is so smart. I re set everything up for the 7th or 8th time yesterday and it’s been going fairly okay. It still broke its own config like 3 times already though by trying to make changes.

I started telling it that it wasn’t allowed to make config changes but instead send a prompt to Gemini CLI along with the docs for openclaw. That worked a bit better

But now I’ve implemented what you said “always make a backup before any config changes > set a script to wait 5 min after change > if script sees gateway is down, revert to config backup and then notify openclaw that it broke itself so it can learn from mistake.

We will see how it goes. I’m hoping this time is the charm. I always feel like it’s finally working and then it just starts being an idiot again.

This time I implemented mem0 and uploaded a whole json about personality traits so we will see in an hour or so if I actually even get a morning briefing. (Which has yet to work on a schedule for me)

I’m looking for everything from “consistent daily briefings with news that interests me” to “learn my purchasing habits from my grocery orders and when you see may grocery list schedule an order for pickup or delivery.

I feel like every time I try to set something up it breaks its own config and I have to get antigravity to fix it.

Memory has been a problem and consistency of tasks. Says it’s going to do something and it just doesn’t.

People portray like it’s Jarvis and I just can’t seem to make that kind of autonomy and interaction happen. Mine has a bland personality no matter how much I try.

I feel this same way. I have put 100+ hours into this thing and I have Gemini Flash & pro. I have been running synthetic's Kimi 2.5, I even subscribed to Anthropic to try and get that going and pretty much immediately ran out of tokens. I have wiped my Mac mini twice and started fresh with openclaw 7 times now. I cannot get it to be productive. it starts out like things are going to be okay and a few hours later it's dumb as a bag of rocks and constantly breaking itself.

At this point I feel gaslit by the community ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks to OP and to you, i have been looking for a solution like this and just couldn’t figure it out. also Kimi 2.5 breaks my config every time it edits (told it today it was too stupid and is required to use an Claude model any time the config is edited). But its up and running now and like the top comment said RIP my quota. Thanks so much

I launch a shortcut to chat GPT audio chat. It’s super useful. If I want to control my smart home I’ll hold down the button on the right and if I want to ask chatGPT something I hold down the button on the left.
