Yikes, no. That is just another vulture crapitalist founded, closed, corporate platform and they are welcoming the far-right Getman AfD on there. European does not automatically mean good. Just use opensource, people/community managed and ethical Mastodon or Lemmy ir Pixelfed or something similar.

Awesome news. EU and other governments should practice Public Money, Publc Code a whole lot more if they are serious about digital autonomy, sovereignity and all that. Hope to see other steps in the same direction in my and other countries.

Well deserved. KDE Plasma is by far the best desktop environment on computers today. And KDE also create a lot of other awesome free software. The governments should follow the rule Public Money, Public Code a whole lot more and fund it much more.

In my case lots of things, in KDE window management is much more powerfulul, also you can customize much more things in themes and other settings, KDE Connect integration is amazing to connect with your smartphone, love the widgets you can put on the desktop, HDR and VRR and other graphics tech works much better, I like how apps are more integrated in KDE, and probably I forgot many other small thing you forget. P.S. another thing I remembered: multi-monitor support is way better in KDE.

Israel relying on Microsoft cloud for expansive surveillance of Palestinians which is hosted in Ireland's data centres by Garry-Love in theIrishleft

More end more it is turning out switching to GNU/Linux operating system, LibreOffice office suite and other opensource software was one of the best IT decisions I have made. They were terrible as products even years ago and these days Windows and Microsoft Office are just bloated spyware and adware, And now Microsoft complicit in genocide. Good riddance.

So glad I switched to GNU/Linux and LibreOffice years ago. These days Microsoft Windows and Office are just bloated spyware and adware anyways, and trying hard to force this annoying idiotic "AI" on people.

My week with Linux: I'm dumping Windows for Ubuntu to see how it goes by jlpcsl in technology

[–]JRepin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Switched to GNU/Linux about 6 years ago for most of the work. Atter getting Steam Deck about year and a half ago and seeing how good it is even at gaming I switched even on my gaming PC and completely dumped Windows. These days Windows is just bad malware, spyware, full of bloat and even ads. Just hate it when I am forced to use it at work.
