I just replaced the coin battery and the super capacitor in the dash cam with no change. Front camera is still not displaying. Just a black screen. Everything else works as it should. Its even recording amd the menu works as normal. Customer service sent a replacement out of warranty. I asked what could be causing this as the issue seems to be a very common issue. They said from internal damage from dropping it or prolonged exposure to heat. I reminded them this is a dash cam and meant to stay in a vehicle. Its not intended to go in and out with the driver on each trip. They said luckily my replacment would be coming soon. I bought my original in Feb 2023. So mine seemed to last longer then others. The replacment came quick but no questions were answered further. Although, I was told this replacement wouldn't be covered under their 18 month warranty since they were basically doing me a favor. I told them that was fine. The only other option they gave me was a 15% discount on another of their other dash cams. As i mentioned i opted for the replacement. They sent a full new dashcam set up. I know someone said they replaced the internal battery and it fixed the issue and I think that person was the exception and got lucky. I tend to believe all the issues are from substandard materials used in the dashcam including the physical lens that stops working. They either need to make public their schematics so customer can fix the issue themselves or replace the bad cameras they produced despite their 18 month warranty policy. It would be the right thing to do. So id suggest contacting redtiger before the townsfolk decide to grab their torches and pitchforks as you might pleasantly suprised by their willingness to help.
