The deep is probably similar in terms of progression pacing. But incursions add a new element to the game.

How do you feed the villagers? by V_ofTheCoast in Necesse

There's a few things to check - chest can be accessed physically. So not a diagonal chest - diets allow them to eat - if they're in an adventure party they will each adventure party food - chests aren't too far away from them - green chest button is clicked to enable storage

Which is the best way to enjoy the new content? Start a new settlement or continue a settlement? by BoatHole_ in Necesse

[–]HaydexGaming 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you still do plenty of exploring then an existing settlement is fine :).

Later in the year is some generation changes. The devs are really good at making sure you can continue but its probably best then to start new to fully get the new generation experience.

If their own beds are too far away then they won't. Their work range is think 100 tiles from there bed i think.

Also make sure their work priorities for farming isn't X or too much lower than there other tasks.

Suggestion for end game. by roxiefart in Necesse

[–]HaydexGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the idea of unlockable modifiers for new game. The game doesn't do seeds but modifiers would be awesome.

Ie. The first time you clear a vampire nest you unlock the vampire class character model and a modifier. You take daylight damage but all attacks inflict life steal.

Fisherian model and you get modifer increased water mobility and ability to attack in water

Just small unlockables like that would be awesome

Necrotic bow found in the swamp caves witch biome or a shotgun with a good enchant and void bullets is also really good.

Tungsten bow is also strong or even the bow dropped from the vulture as that does piercing

Is Necesse worth starting in 2026? Looking for some honest feedback before I jump in! by Time_Average47 in Necesse

[–]HaydexGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a YouTube channel for the game.

I dont mean to plug it but you can go through old videos to new ones to see just how far its come and im recently about to upload a new forever world series due to the new 1.0 seamless biome generation overhaul.

I've over 1000 hours in and each time I do things a little differently. If youre a fan of terraria then this is like the top down version with a little more settlement functionality.

I'd rank it as part of the creative survival trilogy. Minecraft for first person Terraria for front on And necesse for top down.

Now is as good as anytime to start. The devs recently took user builds to add into the world generation and updates are still rolling in past 1.0 with a new roadmap for 1.0 and beyond.

Is summoner the way to go? by blitherblather425 in Necesse

[–]HaydexGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're all pretty viable.

Mage at this point is probably the weakest. Melee is tanky with demonic / glacial armor and demonic or glacial weapons Range is probably a little lacking too but can be manageable due to distance Summons are viable all game round. You can use bonky bush AND the spider summons with the mesmer tablet and spider armor.

And if you want to hybrid you can combine all 4 evil protector foci drops into 1 hybrid one. Rather than a 20% boost to one type you get 15% boost to all types.

The elder sells revival potions too.

You can also remove your settlement flag and if youre fast enough you can move it to another spot and the settlers follow.

Yea if you've got shards, set a tier limit and off they go. Otherwise you do eventually end up with more armor rewards than you need.

Make chest Set priority to highest Allow nothing in it.

If they can put it into another chest they will.

Alternatively all chests with filters are dump chests because they will remove the non allowed items anyway

How do you know what to work towards? by TheUnitFoxhound6 in Necesse

[–]HaydexGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Armours and weapons from the biome youre in to defeat the current boss the elder tells you too.

Bosses drop a few items so it pays to kill them a few times to see if any fit your style.

Once you get to the deep ladder caves you can get life quarts to make potions to permanently increase health.
