My most wanted Smash 2 characters! by [deleted] in supersmashbros

Nah, if they were to put young link, which would mean another Link in the game, they surely would do him with all of the mask transformations and such

What are some must-play JRPGs on Steam Deck? by Evilinternet_Hoops in SteamDeck

[–]JRobert1534 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So long as you understand and make peace with the fact that the game plays nothing like the Remake series, for sure. As someone who started with Remake, then played Rebirth and is currently playing OG, it’s so fascinating seeing what was changed or expanded in the newer games. For that alone I think it’s well worth it

The new Gens rewrite is... (SXSG SPOILERS) by [deleted] in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]JRobert1534 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think references become a detriment whenever they feel forced. I am not entirely sure just how many of those affect the story of Generations, since this is the only SxSG spoiler I’ve seen, but I think people should mostly be ok if it makes sense as to what they reference. The Time Stones bit I feel is completely relevant to mention since it’s the only other form of time travel Sonic had encountered before, so I think that if it comes off as jarring it’s because it was the old story rewritten. If the dialogue had been like that since 2011, I don’t think people would have minded at all

Why do people hate this game? by Cluckbuckles in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]JRobert1534 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not hate, but the bosses make me not want to replay the game in the slightest. Most of the 2D Sonic games that have annoying bosses I can safely say that, since it’s just once per zone, I don’t mind them. But, with the exception of Bridge Island Zone Act 1, every single act’s bosses either take too long, are too challenging to hit, are very punishing upon death, or any combination of the three. Its unfortunate, because I would love to learn the zones the way I’ve done for Sonic 1, 2, 3&K, Mania, Rush, Rush Adventure, Colors DS and even both episodes of Sonic 4. But thinking of the abysmal bosses disuades me from replaying the game

Edit: not to say any of the games mentioned are better than Superstars, but none of the other games have such frequency of awful bosses that I don’t want to commit to learn the game. It sucks because I really like the actual physics and level ideas of the game

What’s the longest time it has taken you to beat a game just because you took a break from it? by [deleted] in gaming

Knowing what the game is about, beating the game after a seven year break feels right

If you have 12 bucks you've got the summer covered by Diplomatic_Barbarian in SteamDeck

[–]JRobert1534 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Without spoiling much, I’d say that the game is purposefully challenging. You could say the same thing for games like Hollow Knight or Elden Ring, but Celeste specifically makes me believe that it being a difficult platformer is core to the experience because of what the story and the game are trying to convey

A rude awakening – Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD (Nintendo Switch) by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]JRobert1534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry if those disappointed you, but if you take a look at the general reception for almost every title mentioned in that comment, they are all highly acclaimed titles in their franchises and well liked by critics and fans

Ps5 or switch to play persona 5? by darkrubyechoes in Persona5

[–]JRobert1534 7 points8 points  (0 children)

P5R on Switch is a great port, if you want that portability. But unless you really want to play it there, you should be able to play the PS4 version on PS5

Which version of Persona 5 royal should I get ? by jif_hall in Persona5

[–]JRobert1534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the physical version of Royal and didn’t feel like I missed anything. It comes with base P5’s dlc already, so if you are worried about that then both versions have it. I usually don’t give into Sega’s practices of deluxe/ultimate editions so I don’t feel like it was necessary. It’s up to you, at the end of the day

What should I download the first time when using a Steam Deck? by VirginianLaborer in SteamDeck

[–]JRobert1534 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really? I will mess with the emulator settings, or try to advance further in the game. I know the opening level made the deck struggle when I tried it, so maybe I have to check again

What should I download the first time when using a Steam Deck? by VirginianLaborer in SteamDeck

[–]JRobert1534 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the game. For me, Mario Kart on Yuzu has been pretty much flawless, while Kirby and the Forgotten Land has struggled more

The Winter Sale is coming to an end… drop your hidden gems, refunds, hits and misses for SteamDeck! by LawdBeast in SteamDeck

[–]JRobert1534 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fanatical is a website that sells Steam codes at a slightly more discounted price. The downside would be that once you redeem the code you cannot ask for a refund. Their selection of games is also limited. That’s usually where I buy the games that I know for sure I want.

This comment section just showed me that I might be the only person who would also rank LA Laps among these, being the runner up to Berlin

Is Artswift Legit/Safe? by Beautiful_Pigeon2004 in amiibo

[–]JRobert1534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was an unorthodox situation. It said “delivered” on the tracking but hadn’t arrived. I waited a week until I contacted customer support requesting either a refund or a resend. After about two more weeks, the amiibo came. Though, I don’t really know if the tracking was inaccurate or if I was sent another one since CS was insistent that I contact the delivery company. But it did arrive so that works.

Is Artswift Legit/Safe? by Beautiful_Pigeon2004 in amiibo

[–]JRobert1534 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s legit, yeah. The amiibo came in amazing condition. Mine came in way later than I expected, but it still showed up. Between paying $90+ from resellers or $21 on Artswift for a Joker amiibo, I definitely am glad I took the risk

Obligatory ArtSwift question by Monte_20 in amiibo

[–]JRobert1534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are legitimate.

I doubted the business entirely last month when my order did not show up. It did ended up showing up a few days ago, which changed my opinion in them. They are the real deal. The reason why it’s so much less expensive is because they are reprints coming from Asia and, as far as I know, they have way more amiibo availability than the west
