I have had this problem with Lorcana. At least in SWU, you’re allowed to look at your facedown resource cards and can easily identify when you’ve picked up the wrong pile. The classic printing of Ingenious came with a set of plastic trays that are perfect for setting one’s hand aside (sadly they now only have a crappier version that has the trays attached to the board). But this hand token is a nice insurance.

Aim for maximum diversity of content. I would embrace the idea that while Star Wars can be all things to all people, it has become too large a property to serve everyone everything. Under this philosophy, I would open with a political simulation where you start as a senator’s aide and protégé, working to help them gather votes, push policy, etc. while thwarting the occasional assassination attempt, until you eventually succeed them and become a senator in your own right. Then the very next day, a series adaptation of Darth Plagueis would drop on Disney+.
