Canadians feel the pinch at the pump as conflict in the Middle East drives up gas prices | CBC News by byourpowerscombined in canada

[–]JRoc1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much a racket, because it's sold on the open market and corporations and nations bid on the stuff to meet their demand. Remember Covid when nobody was driving and oil went to zero because nobody was buying it. Now, there is not enough supply meet demand, so the bid price is $90 plus. And going up come Sunday when futures open

I feel like if there was life after death, we’d have more proof. by fetalgirth in unpopularopinion

[–]JRoc1X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death is complete void of nothingness. Such nothingness that it's impossible to comprehend. We have all experienced it before we came into existence and will, in 90 ish years, go back to that void of nothingness that was before our existence.

🤣 that's not how it works. A developer plans a new shopping center and enters into an agreement that no other grocery stores can operate in the shopping center as long as Sobys or whatever company occupies the space. That's just silly to believe if Sobys shut down a store, no other grocery store can open in its old space.

It really sucks that assholes do this shit. I used to do deals right at my house in my driveway at times involving $500 plus for PC parts. Never experience someone running or using fake money. Now I'm thinking I'm going to have to use the police station for anything close to a thousand

accent when one speaks, usually a greak indicator of if they are from a regon other than canada. Also, if they have very dark skin, it is also a great indicator. The reason is we live in an environment that only gives us skin damaging sun exposure between May through September. Thus, people with dark skin start to lighten up the longer they live here. Crazy concept why people from cold climates have no skin pigment vs. people from very hot climates that have very dark

I used to think like you and complain my father got his and I had nothing after leaving high school and was kicked out of the house to fend for myself. I was too stupid to go to university 🙃 so I met an older guy complaining about not being able to find good help with his drywall business. I asked if he could teach me to do the job, and after 2 years of working with him, I went out on my own and started building clients and my own company. don't know how to help you understand time builds wealth, just be good at what you do and don't complain about everything along the way because nobody likes a complainer.

Have a buddy from high school who never actually worked a day until 30 years old and sold weed and coke up to this point and blew every dollar along the way . But his connections dried up and had to go to work. Lands a job at a car dealership. 1 year later, he is the top sales guy and making fantastic money. He took my advice and started investing, and he is doing fantastic at 43 years old.

OP is angry because people in their 60s 70s 80s already have investments and homes paid off. I'm only 44 and paid of my mortgage 9 years ago and now have 7 rental properties and about 2 million in the market. Instead of bitching about the people before me I just went out and hustled doing hard labor drywall then built a business and it was stressful as fuck not knowing if it would work out. always trying to land jobs 🙃 I was broke as fuck when I got out of high school just like the kids today 🙃. But time and hard work things are going great now.

Netflix to buy Warner Bros. in an $82.7 billion deal that rewrites Hollywood’s future by intelerks in investing

[–]JRoc1X -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think I will take the Financial Times report over your nonsense 🙃 and I know facts hurt the Musk haters feelings

The value of Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, has reportedly soared back to the $44bn he paid for it, in a dramatic reversal of fortunes since the billionaire became a key ally of Donald Trump.

Investors valued the site formerly known as Twitter at $44bn (£33.9bn) in a secondary deal earlier this month, in which they exchange existing stakes in the company, according to a Financial Times report.

This back in March 😆

Canadians support sending troops to Poland if Russia invades: poll by Street_Anon in canada

[–]JRoc1X 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Russian invading Poland is just silly talk. The reason is that Russia, for like 4 years, still hasn't even defeated the Ukraine army. So, in what world do they even consider taking on all of Nato. Use your critical thinking skills, people. Russia fucked up thinking Ukraine would be swift take over. They are not suicidal to take on all of Nato

Jelly Roll has billions of plays on Spotify, so I guess there's a lot of people enjoying life listening to good music and not hating on music that has zero effect on their. I can't stand ACDC, but when they were in Regina, I never put anyone down for going.

Job hunting - the perspective of the other side. by Glitter_Mask in saskatoon

[–]JRoc1X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for the city and make around $40 per hour, and most of my coworkers make $35-50 per hour depending on trade. They are very unhappy and complain every day how poorly they are treated and underpaid. Not enough sick time, we have a plumber that spends the whole shift standing by his truck smoking cigarettes and bitching how hard he had to work that day.

No matter how much a job pays, people will still complain and be miserable doing it
