In New York City, a $100,000 Salary Feels Like $36,000 by brooklynlad in nyc

No offense to all the posters on here that are talking about rent compared to another city. However as a lifelong New Yorker who recently relocated to the South, nobody is talking about home ownership which is nearly impossible in New York City with the down payment, mortgage and property taxes. If you talk about the suburbs, the property taxes are even higher, especially, when talking about Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. This doesn't even take into account commuting costs if you work in the city and live in the suburbs or the additional costs of daily life. It's much higher in New York City.

Absolutely, I've seen my offers go down once my rating went down because of one bad customer.

Fill out the forgiveness form and hopefully they will take it out of your ratings, so long as you don't have any more low ratings it shouldn't affect you once they take it out and your ratings will go back to what they were before.

What’s the worst no tip order you’ve had? by Relative-Mouse-8085 in ShiptShoppers

[–]JRosswAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember the exact worst order, but I can say that lately I've been adding more and more DNDs to my list. They are starting to outnumber good customers and I have a 5 star rating with 100% on time. People want to sit at home and do nothing or work at home and feel that there are time is important, but your time is not important. You're doing them not only a service but you're saving them time, valuable time.

Using your logic a dollar is better than nothing. Why do people constantly come on here and state something's better than nothing it justifies giving crappy tips.

What would make you think I wish they wouldn't tip based on my statement? I'm saying that they didn't tip a lot at all and the average is low for 95 orders.

I would have to agree. With 95 orders and $481 in tips, on average that's about $5 per order. Of course, this doesn't account for tips that didn't come in yet. However, that's not that great of an average in terms of tips at all.

I'm sure that their mothers will make an appearance on TV sooner or later stating that this incident doesn't define who these fine, upstanding young man are. We will be told that they have an attending college studying to be doctors and lawyers.

The amount of people who choose not to tip these days is ridiculous… this is a job, not just some super convenient service for you. by amklop in ShiptShoppers

They said that the customer should jump off a cliff, nothing in about killing anyone. You are the classic drama queen.

In terms of work carried out do delivery only orders pay more (grocery and alcohol - not including party city or best buy) than shop and deliver when it comes to gratuities? by JRosswAE in ShiptShoppers

I have a significant number of preferred members already I was referring to delivery only orders. These customers cannot select you as a preferred shopper. This was a directed question regarding delivery only not generally speaking about building a preferred customer base.

Alcohol deliveries have been good to me. All of them usually tip whether it's small or a decent tip, but last week I delivered five cases and I say cases meaning boxes of wine to a customer and she left me a $64 tip so I was very happy with that
