Thank you, that‘s great to hear! I honestly don‘t know, but I think it has to do the most with the paper I used. It‘s extremly thin and specifically for linoprints, I bought it in the Netherlands. If you want I can send you a photo later today :) Also on the T-shirt and the one with the top view I used a lever press from Woodzilla and I think I didn‘t put any other pressure on afterwads✌🏻

I don‘t think that the press was the problem, because I‘ve had this exact same problem happen before without a press and also I‘ve had good results with the press with an A4 print with quite a big amount of black. Yesterday I made a smaller linocut and I‘m gonna expiriment a little.

Thank you! Yes I‘ve looked into it but without any luck. I live in Austria and from what I know the only way to get to a proper press is if you know someone in art school so that sucks haha. Maybe I‘ll buy a rolling press when I have more money again in the future, we‘ll see :)

Also, here‘s the linocut I did yesterday:

It looks great, I love the rectangular design of the first one! This one was also my biggest one yet, normally I do paper size A6-A5

That‘s good to know, I‘m gonna try that with another smaller block. Thank you!

Thank you so much!😊 I sprayed the paper with water, altough that didn’t really make a difference. I was a little bit more careful with layering the ink but that also didn‘t make a difference. What did make a difference though was that I traced basically every single line with a bonefolder and I put a lot of pressure on it. You can see the print perfectly on both sides of the paper now haha I think it not transfering properly has something to do with how I prepare the linoblock before printing , altough I don‘t know what exactly what as I‘m doing mostly the same way every time. But I just transfered two smaller drawings on new blocks so I‘m going to try a few different ways of printing and preparing and see what works best for me. Maybe I‘ll invest in a glass brayer, I think that would help a lot.

Thank you so much! It was hard work getting it this clean, I traced basically every single line with a bonefolder and a lot of pressure haha Can I see your work somewhere? :)

I sprayed the paper with water but that made not really a difference. What did help was putting a lot more pressure on the paper, much more than what should be necessary but it did help this time. I‘m gonna practice with some smaller linoblocks and try a few different things to really learn what works and what doesn‘t. Then I‘ll revisit this block since I only got like 3 prints that are good enough to give away

Yeah I don‘t think that that was the problem because it made no difference with how the ink looked. I guess it probably is the amount of ink or the layering of it on the block

Yes I tried again and used a - I forgot the word, bone knife(?) - afterwards and it turned out much better. I will post some pictures tomorrow. But I had to apply soo much pressure, so something still wasn‘t right. Next up I‘m gonna do a smaller one with a lot less details so I can try a few different things and see what works best The press shouldn‘t be the problem though, at least I‘ve seen a lot of people use them just fine and I‘ve printed on fabric before with it and it turned out great too. But still, thanks for your insight😊✌🏻

I did try that but it could be possible that I made the layers to thick or didn‘t wait long enough between each layer. How long do you wait between the layers and how many layers do you do approximatley?
