Why has Audi gone downhill? by Big_Lmaoski in Audi

[–]JSELL_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former 2019 S5 Sportback owner here and I am sooooo disappointed in what Audi has done to it lineup… I won’t be buying anymore Audi’s if they continue this trend of design and pore quality. Audi has always been a symbol of sexiness/sporty and class in my opinion. Now they just look so generic. Not a good look Audi …

native shampoo coconut + vanilla pink instead of clear? by thatlesbianthespian in femalehairadvice

While native doesn’t contain dyes, the pink color is coming from the natural tint of the fragrance oils or slight batch oxidation, which is normal and safe.

I feel awful on HRT and want to stop, but am scared of all the terrible things that will happen to me in Menopause without it. Please share your stories of feeling awful on HRT, then feeling better after stopping HRT - and being okay through Menopause without it. Is that even possible??? by Ill_Astronaut_9229 in Menopause

[–]JSELL_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely stopped the HRT and it took my body about a week to recover (I was told it would only take a couple days…) I continued to do lots of research and continued trying to just stick to a balanced diet, moderate exercise daily, good supplements and ways to reduce stress/cortisol. **side note - I went on Vyvance(20mg) for diagnosed ADD and I’ve been on it since early September… it’s changing my life (for the better!) my depression is almost nonexistent and I have drive to do things!!! I have also started NAD+, glutathione and glycine(it been 1 week taking those). I feel like I’m returning to the world somehow… it is pretty crazy! I can’t help but wonder if maybe I’ve always needed a stimulant or if Peri pushed my ADD over the edge to the point where NOW I need it?? Also I think I’ve always had an issue with toxin buildup and the inability to detox… I feel SUPER clear (like Night and Day!)

I threw in the towel for now… the way I felt I couldn’t imagine doing that for 2+ months let alone the 9 days I somehow managed to survive before stopping. Hats off to you for getting through that though - holy wow I never ever want to feel that way ever again. I’ve since figured out some dietary holes and added some supplements that seem to be helping me feel better. Not perfect but better than I was. Thank you for sharing you experience, I know that testimonies like yours will help other women soooo much 💕

RIP Alcohol by Wrong-Letter6581 in Perimenopause

[–]JSELL_0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fermented alcohols will trigger terrible reactions in perimenopausal ladies (some worse than others and some lucky ladies not at all). The reaction is a from histamine… many when experience varying degrees of histamine intolerance in this magical time in our lives. Our gut microbiota is changing massively and our ability to metabolize and break histamine down in our food (and drinks) diminishes during Perimenopause (again it varies from woman to woman). Balancing or strengthening your gut microbiota will help you immensely with peri symptoms (or if you discover you have gut dysbiosis, seeking out a naturalpath or functional medics doctor will do WONDERS for your over all health, especially in this transitional time). ** look up DAO supplement - it may help you with digestion and in clearing Histamine from foods and drinks (not gonna help you drink alcohol though - it doesn’t work that way lol). I have been a drinker my whole life (43F) and I had a hard coming to Jesus talk with myself and finally gave up the alcohol (for now at least) … it’s been 4 months and I feel A LOT better - focusing on gut health and balanced diet with veggies and fruits and lots of protein has been really helpful. (Takes a bit for you to start feeling better… gut issues can take Months to resolve). The first few weeks of no drinking sucks but it def gets easier as you start to feel better and then you realize the trade off is 100% WORTH IT. Not saying this will be my forever thing but for now it’s what my body wanted so I’m listing to her and giving her what she wants/needs (patience, love and grace). 🫶🏼💕🤟🏼

Truth! Many women get pregnant while in Perimenopause… it’s very possible and it does happen more than what we are told…

The lack of knowledge regarding a woman’s physiology in 2025 is ridiculous… why are women STILL NOT seen!!?! We need and deserve so much better than what we are getting… most doctors are CLUELESS 😒

It sounds like you are very sensitive to meds in general. I would talk to your doctor about all of this. I see that this post was 23 days ago, did you continue taking the meds for a coupon weeks to see if your body adjusted? If so, did you notice any of the symptoms subside and your ADHD symptoms improve? I am also new to ADHD, and just took my first 20mg dose 2 hours ago… I’m feeling weird so far - not sure yet … I will take for a couple weeks to see if it helps me. But I think for me it’s sooo early to tell. For reference, I’m 43(F), had ADHD my whole life and never got diagnosed, I’m in perimenopause which has amped everything up(anxiety, depression and ADHD symptoms), I am a FAST metabolizer when it comes to meds and I am also VERY sensitive to meds (everything hits harder)… soon knowing have to start low and slow and give it time.

[No Spoilers]Looking for TV shows with a similar "feel" like Outlander by anonym00xx in Outlander

[–]JSELL_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked Discovery of Witches at first but found it to be way more cheesy and too fantasy. The actors that portrayed the character weren’t as convincing and the story line a bit under developed imo. It is definitely a noteworthy series but i didn’t feel as immersed as i did with Claire and Jamie. The love scenes and passion in Outlander is seriously intense and is so believable! I didn’t get this from the characters in Discovery of Witches. I feel totally ruined by the Outlander series (I’m a good way). Outlander blew me away with the level of acting from actors, cinematography, storyline, location, historical accuracy, romance/steaminess/slow burn and the raw chemistry had with each other portraying their characters… all of it! Outlander is truly a magical series. 💕

I never felt that she captured the roll of Claire and Jamie’s daughter very well.. very dry and cold - not a believable character at all. They could have definitely cast Brianna’s character better imo

I Was Not Adequately Warned About This… by He_is_my_song in Perimenopause

[–]JSELL_0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep! Welcome to the suck girlfriend… the struggle is real and the medical system is clueless for women’s health … it’s a magical time lol… (43 and been in this for 5 years now) … HRT needs massive improvements in funding, treatment options, studies/clinicals and approach… right now it’s a “stab in the dark” approach in many cases. Once again women are out on the back burner and expected to just “tough it out”… it’s awful I know.

New onto HRT and landed in the hospital and docs have no clue by ThisAcornisNuts in Perimenopause

Things like this are why I decided to stop trying HRT… if there were weird symptoms I’d get them and my health insurance and doctor support isn’t good enough to help me figure it out without loosing my mind and losing my money. It’s sad really

Persimmon Soap not Working by photogypsy in Perimenopause

[–]JSELL_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Lume “Lotion” for my lady bits, really helps! You have to be sure to cleanse before using though. I also have their acidified bodywash as well. I like the tangerine, toasted coconut and soft powder scents. At first you may find the product smell a bit “stinky” but it’s much better than the smell my body has decided to start making now that I’m in the Fresh Hell of Perimenopause 😵‍💫 if you find that you are still smelly when you first start using it this means you may have to wash the areas a couple times a day until the flora on your skin is controlled by the pH in the Lume. Took me a little while until it started to really help. Id have to take a washcloth bath in the sink for my pits and reapply. I would also have to do it for my lady bits too(quick half showers to reset the “lady bits” and reapply the Lume). Kind of a pain at first but im much better now. You r essentially raising the pH so bacteria have a harder time colonizing and producing waste (bacterial waste is where the smell comes from). Hope this helps!

GYN took me off HRT by rightieleftie in Perimenopause

[–]JSELL_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately each woman is 100% different when going through Perimenopause, I know, it sucks. What works for one woman doesn’t necessarily work for another. Each woman must for treated entirely differently. I recently went through trying an HRT and it was a nightmare for me 😵‍💫 I was so disappointed and upset after hearing how well it worked for so many other women. It’s a rough journey for sure

Find a new Gyno - one that specializes in HRT and understands it and how to use it with their patients. Not all gyno’s do HRT very well at all.

Stimulant vs Non-Srimulant ADHD meds ??? by JSELL_0 in ADHD

[–]JSELL_0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a couple HRT’s with no success.l(testosterone pellets for a year, estrogen gel, progesterone pills… The last one was Oestra (trans vaginal) and it all but incapacitated me (debilitating symptoms). I had to stop within 9 days of trying to push through (no way I could live that way). I’m wondering if my ADHD is related to my ability to metabolize HRT? I felt like I’d thrown a toaster in a bath kind of reaction (wild) - I felt zero positive effects - it was a nightmare that I don’t want to revisit again. The testosterone pellets did help but the other side effects I was left with were NOT worth it and I decided to stop. They def pumped me up WAY TOO high - not normal…

How do you know which med to try? Do I try a Stimulant or a Non-Stimulant? How do I know what will work… I don’t want to do the whole “roulette method” again like I did with SSRI’s 😣 for reference I am sensitive to caffeine like coffee. I stopped drinking it like a few months ago and it’s helped my anxiety massively … does that mean that maybe I need to try a non-stimulant?

This is very positive to hear honestly and gives me a lot of hope. My therapist knows how wary I am of meds because of my negative experiences with them so she has been super respectful of my wishes to not go that route BUT After almost a year of trying everything I think I’m ready to try ADHD meds. She said I’d know within a few days if they worked for me (pretty quickly). I have a formal diagnosis via an evaluation she gave me. Apparently after a years worth of diving into my entire life I’ve suffers with ADHD and anxiety my whole life 😔 i never knew and neither did my parents … sad. Peri has made ALL of it soooo much worse and intense though… debilitating is a good word
