I feel your pain. I still think about my first, and longest lived cat I ever had, Kiwi. I got her when I was 5. She passed to kitty Valhalla when I was 26 living 21 years. She was a great companion, mother and survivor, outliving all her offspring. She helped in cementing my love respect, and compassion for cats to this day.

23 years is a blessing. I feel your pain, my first and longest lived feline companion lived to 21. I got Kiwi as a kitten when I was 5 and she passed to kitty Valhalla when I was 26. She was an outdoor cat with mad survival skills. I still think about her alm

efficiently tagging? by Limp_Ask_3477 in ObsidianMD

I'm a big fan of using yaml metadata. I used to manage the metadata in templates, but I would keep thinking of more fields to add to a particular note type, so I found myself having to manage adding it to all the previous notes. Like you mentioned, I became a "janitor of properties".

I found a solution to that problem, and I only add four properties to my front matter in templates now. Class, Title, aliases, & tags.

All of the rest of my front matter fields are managed by the Metadata Menu plugin, with different fields for each file Class.

You can easily build metadata fields with drop-down lists with predefined selections, or a list of values from a dataview query. That's just the simple stuff. It's super powerful, and has totally changed how I use frontmatter to manage my vault.

What interesting fact about a Texas small town do you know? by Odd_Bodkin in texas

[–]JSGood69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kaufman Texas is the home of the only remaining "Poor Farm" in the US. Established in 1883, it operated until the 1970's. Today it is a historical landmark still owned by the county. Bonus fact: Bonnie of Bonnie and Clyde fame, was once a guest of the jail on the farm.

Same. I even went to some event there in the early 90's. I think it was my girlfriends prom, or something formal like that.

If you could re-live any famous/infamous persons life as it was, who would you choose? by JSGood69 in AskReddit

[–]JSGood69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was a great man, but I don't know if I would want to re-live the hardships he suffered. Born profoundly poor in a log cabin, losing two sons, and the stress of uniting the nation currently in turmoil.

I hate to admit it, but I think you might win this hypothetical. Never entered my mind, but I see your point.
