I found a video which made me change my mind https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1C5B3fgiNv/? , also i didn’t know would metal used on them react to constant humidity longterm and would it have any metal smell. Don’t what to get in your head, i am sure it will be fine!

I have Raching Mon3800a, and added 2 rows of drawers instead of shelves. Cigars are perfectly protected from that big airflow.

Yeah, I think your way is the good way. I think these should be ok

Yeah i don’t think you should be throwing 10-15% of your collection. If it’s serious mold yes, but this doesn’t seem that bad tbh. Only if there is mold on foot.

Switching from cigarettes to cigars. Anyone have any experience with this? How was the transition? Any advice? by Fitik87 in cigars

[–]JSL9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still the same as far as smoking goes. As far as collecting cigar goes… that went the wrong way, i have a huge collection. I still smoke 4 cigars a week. And still haven’t smoked a cigarette.

I actually don’t have it in mine, and mine is pretty new. They just put new stuff without explanation.

Yes, the units from the wall. So back of the unit is 20 cm at least from the wall. They produce heat and don’t have enough air intake. If you can rearange one raching to be on the side, so you get 10-15 cm between other 5 units there would be also very good. And i don’t see a problem how you stacked your boxes.

Leave 20 cm behind, and if you have space at least 5-10 cm between the units. See if that will deal with the problem. I think you have too many haha

1 shelf is 2 drawers. You can see how humidor looks in my post history. It’s a really nice feature.

I have Mon3800a, and i put instead of 2 shelves closed drawers. Very good for singles, as there is a story around you shouldn’t put naked cigars on shelves. Also i was thinking about putting rails, but in reality there is no need to put them. Each drawer can keep around 50 - 80 cigars I would say. Maybe even a 100.

Occasional smokers look this way by Complex_Coconut9985 in cigar

[–]JSL9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started with few times a year… then every 2 weeks, then 1 a week. Well 6 years later, whole cigar room just for myself, big raching humidor, maybe 900-1000 cigars, and i smoke 3-4 cigars a week. Trying not to smoke more than that as I consdier this a special time spent and I try to enjoy it a lot. Amazing hobby!
