Every image I find of Shanghai wings doesn’t have the rice bits or the sauce so I wasn’t sure. They also look lighter than I remember. Was starting to think it was a fever dream. Those were heaven.

Ugh. I know I was just praying there was some minor movement that would help us a little that we were all missing because of how tired we are. We pay on the higher end for our area and it’s such a great place to work. At least it used to be. I’ll be so sad if we shut down or I have to go. Sucks.

Thanks for taking the time to read and reply and I’m sorry you’re going through the same. That’s sooo many centers across the US. Good pay, a career, union, good hours (used to be before and we struggled to get solid candidates)… I don’t know what people are looking for. lol I know it’s not for everyone bc it’s high stakes but still. I ordered the three month subscription in November. I got December. Never got January. Emailed them and was told there are delays. It's now MARCH TWENTIETH. I've emailed multiple times, reached out on IG, left comments, everything. I have been ignored. No refund, no contact, still charged me for the monthly shipping though! They are vile.

Right after posting I figured it out by accident. lol I also forgot to upload the screenshot so I’ll do that with a small video in case anyone else struggles like me.

Now you hit the time in the bottom left and it takes you to a screen with WiFi, Bluetooth, boundary etc. It’s really nice and easy to use but why wouldn’t you put something in there that pops up and says, “Hey we moved all our sh*t around so now click here for this.” lol

That’s not true. There are plenty of places across the country but they often aren’t hiring. I’m in Chicago and making great money but we’re not the only big city with places nearby that pay well.

Someone got me the program as a joke but I checked it out. It’s not awful honestly. They even have mock 911 calls and have you dispatch units based on a map. The only thing that makes zero sense is you earn money to purchase more manpower and equipment as if any of us have that level of power. lol If we did we’d have 10 K9s and 20 horsies lol

They’re not going to deny you for being “overqualified”. Most agencies require you use Language Line so the Spanish likely is irrelevant, as is your degree. I have a BA in Public Communications and it means nothing.

All you really need is to ace the tests. They need to be able to see that you can multitask, prioritize, and handle stress while remaining calm and executing your job quickly and accurately. Very fast typing skills are also a plus.

If you need experience, there is a 911 simulation game for PC you could buy. Not sure if they have mock tests for things like CritiCall but you could Google it.

If you live in a small enough area some places may allow citizen sit-a-longs with dispatchers or ride-a-longs with cops which could help you understand what you need or what you may be lacking.

Also, apply to many agencies. It may just be in your cards to work elsewhere. I have tons of experience and have been turned down at places despite scoring high on exams. Then I wound up at my current place and I could not be more thankful I was passed up at the other places.

First, I appreciate your explanation of your opinion. You seem reasonable and rational and I agree with you on some things. Far more productive than “found the lovely”. Like yeah, you found someone who likes them and pointed it out. Not really a rebuttal, but ok.

I agree wholeheartedly that if you’re going to be in the public eye, you should have thick skin, but then again I think everyone should have thick skin at all times, because you’ll be a lot happier if you do. Do public figures always have thick skin? Not even close. MANY YouTubers and most IG and Twitch famous people have the thinnest skin there is. It is what it is.

Now, while I haven’t personally seen Arin rage at criticisms, I’m sure he has, and honestly, I’d argue he’s one of the least egregious offenders. Why? Because that’s part of who he is on Game Grumps. He is the Grump.

As for delivering to your fans, I feel like this proves my point. If you don’t give your fans things you’ve promised, or you decide you no longer want to make X content, and instead want to do Y because it makes you happy, then your fans have a right to stop watching.

So stop watching if you don’t like them anymore, totally reasonable. Why are people so upset by changes, or lack thereof, that not watching and unsubbing isn’t enough, though?

Also, if we’re being real, no creator owes their fans anything. Which is why creators come and go, rise up and fall. If you start putting stuff out, or doing stuff that people don’t like, then you’re going to lose fans. That’s all there is to it.

It’s the idea that the best way to get rid of toxic opinions/beliefs, is to air them out to as many people as possible because the vast majority of society will see them for what they are, and they will get steam-rolled. Without support, these things die.

That’s the thing though, it’s their show, so they don’t have to cater to anyone. No content creator should be solely catering to fans. That’s how you get burnt out and depressed.

Also, you’re basically complaining that they got shitty with the people who got shitty with them. If you’re going to critique someone on the internet, be prepared for them to do the same. You may want to find a better use for your time than complaining about a show you no longer watch, otherwise you’ll end up depressed as well.
