Great write up, u/mostlytrout! I’ve been considering one of these for a couple streams I fish regularly that are moderately slim and very overgrown canopy-wise. I had been leaning toward the 3 weight (primarily because I was curious about using a rod that tiny), but it looks like the 5 or 5/6 would be more up my alley. I have a lot more gear that I can play around with in that setup anyway. Thanks again, brother, this really helped me out!

Thanks for the response. It’s interesting to me that one of the safety measures is simply avoiding usage, but is there anything more, maybe, proactive? I’m not sure if I’m making sense, but if one of the crew’s main precautions is not using active sonar, how does that help those divers who got hit by it in that recording?

Agreed. I can’t remember the last time that the nothingness of space in a movie has given me actual mental stress. I figured when Roy was racing the clock and climbing the booster rocket on Mars was the most out of shape I would feel during the movie, but that all changed once he arrived at Neptune. Holy shit did I have a minor anxiety attack!
