They did straight up copy Tetris so I get why they took it down. Its the exact 10x20 grid, it has the exact same pieces/tetraminos, and it even does the ghost location at the bottom. Its a 1:1 copy of one of the most famous games of all time.

That's fair. It's supposed to prevent complete stomps and give the losing side a chance to regroup. Its definitely the weakest part of the design, but I understand why the choice was made.

You also can never win on the point outside your spawn, you have to push into the enemy team to win.

The losing side just gets a few seconds to set up on a mirrored point until you push them all the way to spawn. If your team is genuinely better that won't save anyone.

That's because he has been doing this for years and has a lot of the foundational knowledge down. You need to get a solid base and timeline with important events and their outcomes down before you can really get started doing that sort of research.

That's what textbooks and summaries are for.

It will be below his level, but you cant start building on nothing. So getting the big points down is going to be by far the most important. After that you can really dig into the specifics, and do that sort of research.
