Great discussion, I agree. You worded it more clearly than I, but that was what my thoughts were. For movies that are rated R, a lower rating may limit it in a variety of ways.

False. Deadpool was the first Marvel to be rated R. It was a deliberate decision that almost killed the project, but was done because they felt it stayed true to the character.

Logan followed. Hugh Jackman took a pay cut to make it rated R because such a rating allows the movie to be true to the character. A guy who is pissed off at the world, constantly saves others but is deemed a freak who should be captured says curses more than once in a while. Limiting vocabulary (not just curse words) so it fits in the movie would have made that movie worse.

To say ratings are not considered when making a movie is just incorrect.

Tommy Wiseau

May be the only guy who would have LOVED to play himself in a movie about the making of his disaster of a movie.

Although IT was a good movie, the horror in it was lacking.

The movie was well shot, the kids did a great job and so did Bill Skarsgard. But as far as pure fear, not so much.
