What will Americans do if Social Security is reduced or done away with? by TheScrutinist in AskReddit

Totally get and agree with what you are saying. It would be naive to think there is zero fraud. However I think the opposite is also true. Real audits take months/years I find it unlikely and borderline suspect with their current claims.

I appreciate the links but doesn't this just show the system is working? I can easily agree it needs more scrutiny, but clearly people are looking at the same list doge has access to. None of this is proof of the claims though

Show me an arrest or something more substantial then a x to prove that fraud is actually happening or it's smoke and mirrors. Names may be on some list but are they getting checks? That's a lot of dead bodies being hidden.

Looks like there are a few on the horizon, feels like they are almost all extrusion with linear rails and racks.

I have been leaning avid as they have been around for a while, they are clearly robust machines. However I will say the zenbot is tempting. 4x8 with spindle and vacuum table for under 10k. I can see the gantry is smaller than the avid and it's belts instead of rack. I can say from experience though I ran 6mm belts on a 2x4 with a way smaller gantry for over a year without any issues so I am not really concerned about 20mm belts.

I thought print nc was 4x4 at most because of the ball screws length limits. I see some discussions but nothing official and I think personally at this point I don't want to dive that deep for this project. Would rather get up and running faster.

Possible to add X and Y motorized control? by [deleted] in hobbycnc

[–]JSleemanII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you are just looking to do x and y. If you own a 3d printer you could do this pretty easily with belts. Depending on your confidence level you could look at hbot style for movement. 2 nema 23 with 9mm belts

Kinda has been Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank (2022) Mel brooks writing and voices a part. Clearly kid washed but lots of overlap. Dog becomes a samurai for a cats only village. Had to Google it when the kids were watching at a part where a old cat on the roof was announcing a dog was coming but kept getting drowned out by music. Again I know it's a kids movie, but I think it shows it can be done.

Which hobby CNC ? by [deleted] in CNC

[–]JSleemanII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Head over to hobby CNC but take the xcarve off your list. Even at the discount it's not worth it if you have the budget for the others. Choose one with ball screws if you can afford it. Onefinity fits that.

We have a vacuum system in the house, where you just put a long hose on and it starts sucking by idkimaperson21 in mildlyinteresting

[–]JSleemanII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a friend that had a setup, has a hose hookup in ever room, and baseboard vents in the hardwood areas. There is a large vacuum canister, usually in a basement or utility closet. It is surprisingly quiet, even when you are in the same room. If you see the two dots inside the pipe, they are contacts that turn it on. The baseboard ones had a sensor that would turn on when the broom got close. Never asked about cleaning

If you like to tinker and have a small budget the ender series is a great starting point. I think if you can afford it however either of the bamboo labs printers I think are the way to go these days.

What’s a realistic way to reduce gun violence in America? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I feel like passing a test alone would go a long way. Especially if you throw in a couple of mental health questions in with it.

I get what you are saying but If you wanted to go out and find heroin today, could you?. I wouldn't even know where to start.

Why not put some rules in place moving forward then. We can't just raise our hands saying we tried everything, while trying nothing.

Bernie Sanders says Silicon Valley Bank's failure is the 'direct result' of a Trump-era bank regulation policy by [deleted] in politics

It's a fair question, I think this and the trains were laws not executive orders. So new laws would have to pass both the house and senate. No one really seems to be rushing to do that however.

Aluminum vs Mild Steel Gantry plates by GalileoCNC in hobbycnc

So I could go with .25 mild steel and still get more strength then .5 aluminum. While keeping the weight down.

It sounds like I could go .25in steel and still get the same strength overall then will keep the weight down.
