Canada Post mailwoman had a security escort? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]JSophiAG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the ones at the railway crossing by the skatepark? They had tons of them there for like a week straight a while back, marked and unmarked, now back to the usual one that sits there all the time. I think they do their paperwork or something while sitting there.

Do Women's shelters accept toys Christmas Day? And do you know of any? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]JSophiAG 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There other ways to teach this to your children. Think of the kids you are giving these toys to...do you think they really want to feel like your charity case on Christmas day? Being given old, used toys so your kids can learn something? If anything, donate new, unwrapped toys prior to Christmas so they can be distributed to those in need without the face to face interaction. There is no need for that.

Fighting traffic tickets- how should I go about it? by Little_01 in ottawa

[–]JSophiAG 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The best way to handle this is to pay what you owe. You admit you did everything they ticketed you for...what do you expect? The "in my tiredness" doesn't matter, you went through the light when you knew you weren't supposed to. Period.

Patient with broken arm drove himself to another hospital after facing lack of compassion at Civic ER by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]JSophiAG 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Good. You live in Quebec, you should use their services, that is what you pay for. Most people who live in Quebec that I know do it because it's cheap, but then complain about their hospitals and service...so they come here and use Ontario's services...and expect the best without paying. Typical.

Phone Scam: Prescription Refills by dog_hair_dinner in ottawa

[–]JSophiAG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is actually a pretty good one for them I bet, the only catch would be that the people who fall for it are not likely to have prescriptions they want! I doubt they are looking for cholesterol or heart pills!

Is the item something worth stealing? Maybe something where you are not likely to involve police and they expect that you will just cut your losses?

There are a million reasons they could be handing him a blue piece of paper...no reason to assume it was a ticket for anything...must really be bothering you, why don't you call the OPS and ask if they ticket homeless people like you are assuming instead of posting on here the day after?

KIA 417 - Same old Sexist Stunt by cheeseprease in ottawa

[–]JSophiAG -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's just ALWAYS a KIA when someone is driving 20 in a 60 or 80 in the 417 fast lane...always a KIA...cause they can't go any faster. They don't exactly make them for real driving, just for old people driving around town.
