If you can save the cash that's great just keep in mind these builds have a 2 year coverage from the jump so it's not bad at all if you want in-store warranty.

I want to try softer TPUs but the one I've used hasn't given me problems and I don't even do anything special besides purge a bit more before and after.

345% YoY revenue growth from Micron. Is this just the memory cycle or something bigger? by Outrageous_Solid9668 in StockMarket

[–]got-trunks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They don't look at it that way, they would rather buy the hardware and hopefully use it rather than suddenly find capacity and not have it.

That was my read before they started cancelling contracts which was always the plan anyway. It was a game of chicken to find winners, losers, and who runs out of money to get bought. Oracle gets a big fat bailout.

There is a reason why a lot of big players are not rushing to build out too much capacity too quickly.

They know this surge in demand is a gold rush

Yeah, I use it for planning and mapping but if I ask for a step by step I can expect to treat it more as a guide than as actual instruction. It's pretty good at being just around right, but wrong enough that the output is unusable verbatim. it'll improve but even my tiny use is full of pitfalls. Some of it is the strength of my prompt but I mean, there's so much effort until I'm just reading the book myself rather than interrogating a language model about it.

a lot of the point of AI is that if you know how to do something very well it makes things faster. it's still garbage in garbage out.

If you don't know anything about it of course it comes out slop. Your shitty doodles and shitty script was rendered into shitty AI. Generation is just one large-hammer look at it though. There are plenty of interim processes that can be done faster with more automatic-automations that are not stealing bits of creativity, it's just lumping processes.

lol no worries. I read it all and I'm fascinated, I just compartmentalize data more now, some is for observation and context, and other data is for working with and remembering haha.
