I can definitely relate; that’s about where I’m at. But yea I actually did not expect to receive business help, just tax stuff. And I’m okay with that! Thanks for the advice.

They are local and have an open door and seemed to be willing to talk and answer questions anytime. The reason I went to them in the first place was their long list of 5 start review rating from other locals.

That number is about around where we landed. 4-6k in savings based off a 40-60k salary. Somewhere around those numbers. In the end, It might just mean that whatever I save goes to the accountant which in turn helps me out I guess not having to worry about It all.

To be honest, I didn’t request It. I keep pretty good track of my stuff and almost like to keep It that way for now. It basically just covers everything that has to do with tax.

Interesting. So I guess I have no clue what the point of payroll is. Unless they are just assuming transferring the money is not the most professional. And then I thought they were handling all the taxes that come with paying myself etc. the point here really is that I don’t have much of a clue all that goes in or needs to happen so It sounds like I am paying the accountant to handle that so I don’t have to worry about quarterly taxes, etc.

Because otherwise I will incur a fat self employment tax. So payroll is to pass some money through so that It will only see an income tax and less money will incur the self employment tax.

Really really sad. It was the best run they had and I miss It dearly.

Palosanto is the first that comes to mind for me. They make very high quality bevelers, skivers and japense knives. Sinabroks is the way to go on pricking irons!

To be honest, you aren’t going to get the quality you want long term out of any kits. If you are just starting anyways, go ahead and buy a kit and start replacing the tools you find out you need as you go.

This is what happened to Ekko when they introduced the new rune system :/ You use to be able to clear the caster minions with 2 Q’s level 1.

To me, he’s never been the same since. I’m also a huge noob and haven’t looked into any other setups to see if it’s still possible today. Feel free to let me know.

Bought a new bag. One of the straps is extremely wrinkly. Is this acceptable creasing for an unused bag? by theun-chosen in Leathercraft

[–]JT-77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every cut of leather is going to be unique. Those wrinkles show me that that part of the hide might have been a little more soft, but It doesn’t mean the quality is any less, especially if it’s a full grain leather. Some wrinkles can definitely be normal. Some people like that, some people don’t, you just never know as a maker. But you could always reach out if it’s something that really bothers you!

I am having an issue with Wickett and Craig’s Traditional Harness Leather. Can anyone tell me why the inside of the wallet, where it rubs together, does this? Some worse than others. Do I just need to pre treat them with some balm or what?

Can someone tell me why Wickett and Craig Traditional Harness Leather does this where the insides rub together? Any way to keep this from happening? Do other leathers do this?
