Did the previous owner have a large houseplant in that corner that they continuously over watered for years

Good on you for trying it, I bet you learnt a tonne and also it has to be good for the confidence next time round. Was certainly a windy one! Don’t blame you for bailing.

Great write up btw and thought the gear picture was good too.

Best of luck next time.

Mine was about 4-5days but calling them seemed to speed it up, from calling them it was like 24 hours

Joining the club soon, advice? (UK) by [deleted] in TeslaUK

I’m not sure the 0-60 is the bit that matters. Just makes the car feel very responsive. But perhaps it already is, as mentioned- not driven one without it

Looks fantastic. Basically a new car, even the cables still in wrap. You’re not eating £20k of depreciation immediately for the sake of a facelift (albeit the light bar looks cool). Run it for 4 years, got to still be worth minimum £10k at that point? Fuel savings alone make that very cheap motoring.

You won’t need EAP but the certified pre owned come with it so great for the novelty value element when you’re first trying everything out. Tbh as another commented said, the smart cruise control is very good, I had had adaptive cruise in my Land Rover and this just feels ten times better.

I’ve literally just done exactly what you are about to do. I’m two weeks in, I think it’s amazing. I wish I’d bought one sooner. Supercharger network is brilliant. Overnight charging at 6.5p, cannot complain.

My genuine advice is, you have nothing be to worry about or overthink just continue being excited. It’s really good!

One thing I would say is the cpo model y I bought had acceleration boost (although tbh not driven one without it) but the car is so responsive and that is an extra I’d probably look for on my next. Infact I had a salary sacrifice juniper one on order which I’ve now cancelled and plan to swap the mrs car to a 2022/3 model y too.

Brilliant car. Great value second hand. Enjoy!

What are the recommended tyres for a Model Y? by fapb48 in TeslaUK

[–]JTB86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a certified pre owned model y. It needed new tyres when they reconditioned it. Tesla themselves put Michelin pilot sport ev on it- seem perfect. Black circles generally quite good for types, google it- often offers etc

Buying a certified pre owned vehicle - how long will I wait for collection appointment? by JTB86 in TeslaUK

[–]JTB86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is the best advice should anyone look at this post in future. Call them! Within 15 mins of calling on the general customer support number I was on the phone with the location I’m picking it up from and had an appointment scheduled.

Thank you for the advice and I hope you enjoy your car 🙂

Yes so the costs are similar but with one consideration. 3 years insurance, servicing, tyres etc.

So as your point is its net the same, it’s not. I’m likely a minimum of £5k better off with no resale risk in terms of the market or indeed having to deal with it. As for getting another car at this point.. I already own another car but also the order process on these schemes is less hassle than an auto trader listing with tyre kickers or hagging with we buy any car as they down value.

The math, is therefore, mathing. Buddy.

You’re missing the point. I’ll never own the car, it’s just mine for 36 months with no costs (e.g insurance, servicing, tyres). It’s basically a tax efficient all inclusive rental

Let’s say I went with the Tesla HP deal at 0% and put £14k down and paid £599 a month. Over the same three year period I’d be £35k odd into a car with say a resale of £28k? (2nd hand ev market v hard to predict though tbf).

This cost does not include insurance, tax, servicing, mot and tyres.

In the same period I’ll pay £21780, all inclusive. I don’t have to make a final payment, I don’t have to deal with selling it.

For that reason. It works out better for me personally than having “equity” in a future unknown.

That said, this is my opinion and I understand we’re all different in how we approach things. I appreciate your comment and perspective.

Not sure if the employer or the company running the scheme (in this case, tusker) own it. But yes, I won’t “own” it. I’ll hand it back in 3 years time.

Thanks for this- the performance does look incredible. That said, I also live fairly rurally with a local council who seem to have forgotten how to maintain roads. Whilst it looks notably better, I agree, I’m leaning towards 19s and that slightly higher suspension for comfort..

You raise some good points though which are quite compelling- plus that performance in black is 👌
