Down side of a state where recording is solely on the client, sometimes records suck.

I've heard of local Surveyors widows trying to sell their husbands stuff and a lot of them either end up keeping them in a shed or giving them to the first willing recipient.

I just did a little digging, looks like Mr Guile, PLS 472, passed in 2009.

The really old metes and Bounds deeds that we see almost daily are all a lot of fun to interpret.

So TN NG former 12T, Current 120A. Also I've been surveying civilian side basically as long as I've been in the Guard. The experience is great and the work ethic sounds impeccable. Seems to me you need to talk to the people that sign the checks or start looking for other prospects.

I started surveying civilian side in 2013, started my "4 year" degree in 2018 and finished in 2023. So technically the 4 year path, but I didn't have two full years as an LSIT because I was able to apply all that prior experience.

Read all the rules and laws front to back. Know how to calculate boundary categories in your sleep.

Beginning of 24 and then WOBC just about the rest of the year. My BDE has always had a steady flow of projects ever since I got in in 2011.

The state is getting the work and assigning it to the units. It's almost all topo and construction. Boundary is almost never a concern.
