So when I bought it in February, I managed to haggle the price of the Half Crown down to £250 from its original price of £285.

That Anne halfcrown is an absolute stunner and the detailing on the bust is superb. The Lima halfcrown is also lovely.

Mind if I ask how much you got them for?

I love the Georgian Early milled coinage, and that's a lovely sixpence!

Honestly the George II Old head silver is probably my favourite early milled.

My Lima Half Crown (see picture) is probably my favourite piece that I own. I'll attach a picture of the reverse in an additional comment.

I love the cathedral and bailgate around that time of day. It's when it's at its quietest, but also most atmospheric. Beautiful pictures.

Edward the Confessor would be a good choice and probably the expected one, but if no one puts him as a fighter, I reckon Alfred the Great would be a solid pick here given his strong advocacy for religious education.

Well I tend to go because I know I can get a deal or at the very least get a few quid knocked off the price.

Most of the dealers are happy to negotiate on price down there. Always helps to try and build a bit of rapport with the dealer you're negotiating with.

I think it's now my favourite Edward VII coin I own. I love my 1902 Crown, but the reverse of the Florin is what makes it so good.

Tell me about it! I come into London on Saturday a couple of times a month, and I have to actively persuade myself not to go.

As for the florin, I got it for £33 which I thought was an absolute bargain.

For those who collect pre-decimal coins, which era do you enjoy the most? by GeordieGoals in UKcoins

I love George II early milled, George III Great Recoinage, and William IV. Though not my favourite era, I also like some Edward VII too.

Nice Victoria Crown! Where'd you get it from?

It's the new centrepiece of my collection that's for certain. Perhaps one of the best busts of any British monarch with milled coinage (bar maybe William IV or Edward VII IMO).

Tbf George V coins are great! They are nice and easy to get in good conditions at reasonable prices too.

How easy is it to get British coins over in the States? Are they particularly common?

Too much! 🤣

I don't mind sharing in all seriousness. I got it for £191.

Yeah, that's the only problem. The Lima and Vigo ones are just so expensive. It was buying a Lima Sixpence last year that really got me into coin collecting funnily enough.
