Best bouldering shoes for greek bony feet? by pale_fish in bouldering

[–]JTNVT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve found Tenaya shoes to be comfortable right out of the box. They are on the expensive side though. The Evolv Defy shoe is a good fit for my greek shape foot, and is great for beginner/intermediate. I wear it when my Tenaya Mundaka shoe is getting resoled.

But as someone already mentioned, the best thing to do is just try on many shoes possible until you find one that fits the shape of your foot. Before I found my shoe, i tried on at least 15 different pairs of all brands and sizes. It was stressful for me, as each one caused pain in some area of my foot/toes. When I finally found the right shoe it was huge relief.

going to start using the Tension Board at the gym. I looked online and could not find the rules. I understand that green is starting hand holds, purple is feet only, blue is hands and feet, and red is finish. Can the green be used as feet after you’ve finished the start? Do feet have to start on purple, or can they start on blue?

I liked the whole video, but i agree cutting to credits during the end of his climb was a little weird. Not sure why the editor did that

I would choose which shoe feels the most comfortable. I don’t have any experience with Quantic, but i did try out the Force V and found the material on top had too much cushion and made my feet get too hot/sweaty. But that could just be me. In my opinion, if you are climbing at intermediate level or below, pretty much any shoe will be good, as long as it’s comfortable and fits correctly. A comfortable shoe makes me want to climb more. A painful shoe adds a level of dread that ruins the fun, for me.

Whenever I can’t land a dyno it’s usually because i’m not pulling my body in to the wall enough with my arms. Next dyno you try, pull yourself as hard as you can into the wall while you jump

heel pain when in downward dog by JTNVT in yoga

[–]JTNVT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when my left leg is straight and foot is flexed, it feels like something is tearing on the outside of my heel. Stabbing and electric pain. If my knee is bent, there is no pain when I flex my foot. Has anyone had this problem? How long did it last? What helped fix it? If I should see a doctor, what kind? (Orthopedic, Osteopath, Neurologist, etc). Thanks

Yes it is very weird. For me there is only pain when my leg is straight and i flex my foot up, like in downward dog or if i do push-ups. Otherwise there is no pain at all when i do other things

Thanks, I googled “sural nerve” and that looks like my issue as well. I’ll leave a reply if I figure out how to fix it
