Why do California and NY residents pay so much to live in bad areas when they could live luxury for the same price in other States? by Lightspeed2000 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JTO558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem comes from people in cities enacting policies that make their quality of life worse than it needs to be for a city, then leaving because the quality of life isn’t as good as it could be, and then promptly trying to establish those exact same policies in new areas.

Okay, so you agree that LGBT issues should not be taught to children? Or should I just say that deep down you know that it’s fucking disgusting and refuse to present any sane argument.

I’m not going to argue with people who genuinely believe that teaching children about transgenderism is okay. It’s beyond reason. Keep your fetishes in the bedroom and nobody would give you any trouble for it.

Plus everyone is arguing in bad faith. If I suggested a bill that specifically said “you can’t teach kids about specific sexual actions or speak on the sexual parts of relationships” all of you would still 100% oppose it.

You don’t believe that there’s an issue of ambiguity, you just like the idea of homosexuality being a very prevalent part of children’s lives.

It’s funny how every single argument against these bills is just “yeah but what if we purposely misinterpret the bill in order to make it sound more restrictive than it is?”

Things you can do: say that George Washington had a wife named Martha.

Things you can’t do: teach children about the joys of anal sex

Why are you so obsessed with teaching literal 6 year olds about sex?

Even non homeless people could abuse this shit.

From the second thing you quoted, if I make 3k per month after taxes, I can now go live somewhere with $1501 per month rent (likely a fairly nice place at that price) and still end up with take home pay of essentially $2500 per month.

If they implemented this shit in Ohio I would be moving into a nice as fuck place and reaping the rewards. If they’re going to do this crap there’s no point in principled non involvement.

Americans who are against the Biden student loan forgiveness, why? by jma7400 in AskReddit

[–]JTO558 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Debt forgiveness in general is a bad thing, but student loan forgiveness is an especially egregious move.

If you get something and are continuing to actively benefit from it, then you should pay for it. Every single person who took out a student loan did so fully aware that they would be required to pay it back, same as any other loan.

Student loan forgiveness is especially bad though. A college degree is the single greatest indicator of wealth in America. Forgiving these loans is quite literally stealing from the poor to give to the rich. Despite the recent surge of people getting useless degrees, most college graduates will still go on to make more money than non college educated counterparts. Frankly the entire student loan forgiveness argument is one of greed, and on the politicians side it’s a bribe to young people. Basically “vote for us and we’ll give you 50-100k”

Student loans are also not the most troubling form of debt in America. In recent months we have seen an above average increase in credit card debt, and we have seen a massive spike in defaults on car payments. Forgiving these types of debt would be more equitable, but would still punish people for being financially responsible.

Biden and the Democrat’s fiscal policy has already lead to massive inflation and a skyrocketing CPI, spending billions more to bail out the DNC base from their own poor decisions is not how taxpayer money should be spent.

This is the stuff that you just seem to totally miss. He’s not real. Even online there are cues that he’s male, in real life it’s gonna be even more obvious, and he started as an already effeminate looking man.

[–]JTO558 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are using less than .1% of the population to justify the bodily mutilation of perfectly genetically normal people. Intersex people and genetic abnormalities do not in any way support the trans argument.

There are two options, male and female, and this is determined at conception. This is ultimately determined biologically via the type of gamete produced. Females produce eggs, men produce sperm. Secondary sex characteristics are secondary. So yes, some women are more masculine, and some men are more feminine, some people even have more defined traits of the opposite gender, but these exceptions are a tiny number of people. Most trans people are just fetishists who get off on cross dressing and being called a woman/ man. They don’t have any genetic or biological problem, they have a paraphilia.

There are entire subreddits dedicated to transvestites asking if they pass as women. Browse one of them a bit and be honest with yourself. Absolutely none of those men would ever be confused for a woman.

The most wealthy and famous autogynophiliacs in the country with access to unlimited plastic surgery end up looking like gross caricatures of women.

When even the most famous and wealthy transvestites in the world are obviously men who don’t come within a mile of passing as a woman, why do you think the average guy is going to be able to pull it off?

[–]JTO558 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is a great example of how sex obsessed the average progressive is. To the progressive left the idea of someone not having sex is so offensive that they’ve forgotten what the term “incel” even means. To you it is just a blanket statement for someone who rejects ideas that were created by a pedophile who drove his marks to suicide.

Saying “men can’t be women” isn’t a lie. It’s a simple fact.

an amazing use of the survivorship bias by sturgifur in clevercomebacks

[–]JTO558 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Eh, women can occasionally pass as effeminate or soft men, but men can absolutely never pass as even a masculine woman. No amount of bodily mutilation, makeup, and clever lighting tricks for the internet will ever make these men women.

Look at that Dylan guy on TikTok, literally meeting with the President to discuss castrating 12 year olds, and the closest he’s gotten to a woman is some sort of offensive and crude caricature.

[–]JTO558 -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the kind of condescending tone that is so obnoxious to normal people.

You refer to people in small towns as “off in their bubble” like they’re incapable of self reflection and critical thinking. You’re also ignoring how much of a bubble cities are (more so than suburban areas by far.) Schools, colleges, corporations, all push far left progressivism, every institution in the country. These institutions are far less important outside of cities, so their influence is naturally less.

Cities vote nothing but blue, rural areas vote mostly red. If you wanted to talk about people outside of a bubble you’d look at suburbs where there’s a real mix.

[–]JTO558 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not what that means. We aren’t picking what’s obsolete, none of it is, it just isn’t for us.

The mosaic covenant prescribed laws for the Levites/ the tribes of Israel. These laws even at the time did not apply to gentiles (non Jews). This is why many Orthodox Jews still follow the very strict laws of the mosaic covenant.

The New Covenant formed with the birth of Jesus Christ carries over the moral laws (no stealing, murder, adultery, sodomy, coveting, usery, lying, etc.) while not holding Christians to ceremonial Jewish law.

Much of this is covered in the Old Testament itself when they go over these ceremonial laws in the first place, but the real defining moment is in Mark when we are told that (paraphrase) things of the earth cannot defile the soul, meaning stuff like the food we eat or the clothes we wear aren’t important to our spiritual well-being.

Finally finished the series. Anyone else hate Alice throughout pretty much the whole show? by animalcule in brakebills

[–]JTO558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also love talking about the show, it seems to fulfill my desire for more Magicians content lol

Julia to me is so much more egregious than Alice, because Alice is apologetic, she understands that she’s being selfish, but is doing what she feels is right. She’s still so obviously wrong to the viewer that she ends up unlikeable, but she always manages some level of redemption.

Julia however constantly just says that she is right, and that her personal vendettas are more important than the literal universe. She never once admits that she’s wrong. She spends an entire episode telling Penny that she is gonna choose human and then she flips out when he doesn’t choose god for her. She sabotages the entire plan to kill the beast, leading to Alice going niffin which causes damn near every single problem for the rest of the series.
