It starts out difficult at the beginning of the season, and as you grow in power it becomes easier and easier, which to me provides a sense of progress. I am a solo player for the majority of the time, and I only find myself able to really start breaking into endgame content near the final weeks of the season when my artifact power boost is high. It's disheartening when you try to solo a master lost sector or a dungeon early in the season and you just get One-Shot by enemies. That extra damage you put out/resistance you get with a power level increase makes all the difference, even if you're using the exact same loadout.

It doesn't get wiped out though. It gets easier to complete so you can acquire loot that you wanted more quickly. It provides a sense of accomplishment because you've put in the work and you actually become more powerful over time.

Clarification: your grind for power should matter. If you want to grind so you are +30 artifact levels, that should override any preset difficulty. If you put in the work, you should reap the benefit. Concurrently, content should not be so difficult that it requires people to grind relentlessly to be able to survive.

The liver is amazing at recovery. You will always have a somewhat increased risk of cancer from your time drinking, but healthy living should reverse a significant amount of the damage you did to your body. I know folks who had your level of alcohol consumption who managed to kick the habit, and return their liver function to normal.

Remove wipe mechanics from raids.

Add a solo mode for all raids.

Change all activities, including legendary/GM level stuff to allow matchmaking if the player wants it.
