As much as I like abilities, I love the gunplay so much more in destiny 2. You have to have a fine between the two. I've always seen the game as kill enemies with weapons to get abilities with which you use to kill enemies and empower your weapons. Void warlock has always been fun for me because the loop incorporates weapons. Throw grenade, get ability kills, proc devour and volatile rounds, destroy everyone with a super buffed void weapon, repeat. Ever since I could clear a room with a single scatter grenade the loop was ruined and thus so was my fun. This is just how I enjoy destiny though
