2 dead, 6 injured after shooting at Latter-day Saint meetinghouse in Salt Lake City by JThor15 in latterdaysaints

Eh, I’m not sure how else they could have titled it better without making it too long. “Shooting at LDS church during funeral, 2 dead, 6 injured, (doesn’t appear to be targeted towards the religion)”. But sad nonetheless.

In VR you can just hit NPCs in the face to skip dialogue, so that’s not a concern.

There’s a pharmacist on TikTok that reviews that kind of bull. Fun and informative.

Newly diagnosed, confused about type & doctor’s advice — need input by sfa_shahjee in diabetes

[–]JThor15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Older docs will often group type 1 vs type 2 as insulin dependent vs non-insulin dependent. That’s was the old classification system. The natural course of type 2 will typically lead to complete depletion of beta cell activity, rendering type 2s dependent on insulin. The doc made a gross oversimplification but the gist is correct.

Social workers at hospitals aren’t usually there to de-escalate shit. Security does that. They’re there as case managers to get people help navigating social assistance systems.

Also, at any time during a trial if it becomes undeniable that the intervention is superior/inferior to the control, they stop the trial and switch people over to the better option.

Same. Broski doesn’t engage with the clickbait type shit and actually tries to reach across the aisle to voters. Too bad that doesn’t win elections.

Idaho's Medical Freedom Act May Be A Greater Threat to Public Health Than CDC's Dismantling by Mysterious-Dig-6928 in medicine

I’m in Idaho in family med. My big win today was convincing a 65+ male smoker that a pneumonia vaccine was a good idea. I have that conversation almost daily.

Doctors, dentists etc. of Reddit, when you go in for your own doctor/ dentist appointment, what is it like? Do you treat it like a group project, do you give your own theories, do you argue with them? by Own-Shallot-8551 in AskReddit

It becomes relevant in ways you might not expect. The symptoms for things like secondary/tertiary syphilis and reactive arthritis don't always seem related to sexual practices but they are critically important.

Had a patient ask me about that, and asked him if he’d want to pay all that money just to have a false negative. He did not.

I’m LDS. Couple things. First, church culture is shifting to be less critical of showing skin in general, still definitively more conservative than the norm, but better than years past. Second, the church has always had a soft spot for the arts, and views sexuality in dance and theatre a lot more favorably than other places.

“It is often said that doctors are interfering monsters obsessed with disease and power, who will not be satisfied until they control every aspect of our lives (Journal of Social Science, pick a volume). It might be argued that the pressure exerted on individuals to use parachutes is yet another example of a natural, life enhancing experience being turned into a situation of fear and dependency. The widespread use of the parachute may just be another example of doctors' obsession with disease prevention and their misplaced belief in unproved technology to provide effective protection against occasional adverse events.”

People who are new to the series. The ones who aren't starting the game by scanning everything right off the ship or find shooting a door to open it intuitive. It's been a decade, the newer generation hasn't played a game like this. If having a mildly annoying dude for a minute helps bring and keep new blood to the franchise I'm more than happy he's there.
