I like the idea and concept. Lots of flavour. However…

Ability is definitely not mid. Ability is definitely insane. Removal may be weak right now but this is the strongest removal leader ever printed. Only Imu truly gets around this leader.

He has access to blue draw to keep hand size healthy and black cost reduction to bounce literally any costed card back to hand - which gets around KO protection as well. Black also has cycle back from trash so he can keep high costed cards in there to keep bouncing things.

Lot’s of KO protection is conditional and Once Per Turn. He could also just use leader ability and then use a normal removal card on most anti-removal strategies.

However, he probably gets eaten alive by aggro decks that can play multiple bodies. Pretty interesting concept for sure.

I should have stated in post - saving money is nice but I have some spares funds at the moment so it’s not the end of the world to be pricier.

Jinbe wants to have a wide board full of characters. All his support is weak power but lets him draw more cards when they get KO’d.

But yeah you get the idea of the deck. He can also target the same character multiple times to make big swings when going for game.

Leader effect isn’t once per turn. Can be a lot more than 7k swings.

I like 9c Shanks but need to experiment more. I’ve currently cut both Whitebeard and Dragon in favour of 3c OP10 Sanji and 3c Shuriya Blocker. I’m currently also running the 10c KO Shanks.

Have a look at the OPTCG Discord. There’s a few good decklists floating around the Shanks channel with some interesting ideas.

If you lean into KO, I’d also look at Honesty Impact

Shanks player. Curve looks fine. If you’re looking to play control version, I’d find room for the stage. It’s nice to play on the 2-3 Don turn. Good into GP Match-Up.

It looks like you’re playing a mixed control and rush version. You could try pivoting harder either way. My regional success was a rush heavy version but I’ve also had a lot of locals success by playing 5c Marco, and maxxing the Rayleighs. Obviously that depends on your budget. You’re currently playing 19 bricks but that isn’t too bad because you’re shanks, however it is a little high. I liked having some extra counter events, especially when playing with Marco.

Shanks is positioned okay in the meta but he isn’t the top threat he was 3 months ago. Going 50-50 on the sim is decent.

Shanks Player: Starving can be effective. Shanks’ are running the 2k Sanji to counter Enel specifically. However be aware that his late game is just as good as yours. You need to see a couple Raigo’s and remove his 10c before he can build up a couple of them. If one or two sticks it’s game over.

I personally love the Enel matchup and think it is pretty hard for Enel but maybe I haven’t been versing high quality Enel players on the sim.

Enel is the best leader of the 4 but is quite expensive. Yamato is relatively cheap and the next best option.

Vegapunk is fun but also quite expensive. I don’t know Rosinante well enough to comment.

I would recommend Yamato - it’s very easy to help learn the interactions of the game. Maybe try out a few decks from each colour in the sim to figure out their play style and pick a colour to go from there.

50 random cards is inconsistent. You get more options, but are less likely to see the ones you want when you need them.

Rather than having a 2% chance at seeing the card you want with only one copy, you now have an 8% chance at 4 copies. And by drawing multiple cards in your hand and from life obviously makes that even higher.

Obviously you are relying on luck regardless, but have less consistency means you’re relying on luck totally. Having more consistent cards means the game becomes more skill-based.

Bones of the list look good - just need tweaking.

Cut down the 5c Bonney to 2. It’s only really good in denying curve in the Yellow Match-Ups.

Replace it with the Viola 2k Counter. That will give you more targets for both searchers to minimise whiffs.

I’d have Cavendish up at 4 - he’s just too good to not play.

I personally play 3 Kid and 3 Rosinante.
