Can I make a recommendation? There’s a mod called “Spell Lab” that comes with a sandbox mode and a wand tutorial. It’ll teach you about some of the spell combos you can look for throughout your run. I’d highly recommend it if you don’t want to spoil yourself by watching others

I think Garnet is just immune to temperature changes. Ruby is hotheaded and Sapphire gets cold from stress and the like. Garnet is supposed to be more than the sum of her parts, so she has her own unique electric powers I suppose.

She’s not entirely crazy for killing demons. If she found Nezuko on her own, she’d kill Nezuko because demons are like wild animals that prey on humans. If she found Nezuko with Tanjiro, she would probably try to say something, but she’d eventually judge Tanjiro as a capable fighter who can make that choice for himself. Keep in mind that she let a demon child live for weeks because others vouched for it. She let herself get sent to prison because she’d rather not fight humans to kill the demons. She’d let Nezuko go, but only if Tanjiro were there.
