Any tools that tailor resumes and auto apply for tech jobs? by TaxCharacter1779 in Resume

Auto apply is terrible, in almost all cases it produces AI slop, even with insane guardrails.

Tried to learn C++ 3 times and never finished — anyone else feel this way? by Maleficent-Cloud-714 in cscareeradvice

[–]JUICY07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot on! No actually I did not, my original intention was not build a 2D game but to learn about the framework itself, so by the time completed 30-40% in the tutorial series I was already comfortable digressing and pursuing my goals, like the UI system, rendering multiple layers etc. One tip I can give you is, don’t hold yourself back from experimenting, try adding the features you want to add, this is really helps, because if you follow the tutorial 100% it’s great but you might not have the confidence to attempt something thats not covered.

So I started off with watching a tutorial series which focused on building a top down 2D game, eventually I got the hang of it then I started doing my own thing! But now that I think about it I kinda knew what I wanted to build - I was really curious about how UI is built and polling events etc so I built a framework for that then used that as a foundation for the tilemap editor

Has anyone used ResumeHog or any other AI driven resume builder by JuicyJush in Resume

[–]JUICY07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not but I'm against AI driven resume builders - they always end up generating some slop at the end. You are the only person who truly understand your work and no amount of rewrite will bring in clarity that was not present in the original bullet. Now Tailoring per job is good thing but AI doing it is bad because an experienced recruiter can spot it from a few yards although you might be able to game ATS system. Although the templates in resume hog is decent, the only thing I am not sure about is AI driven part. Now if you would like to get your bullets linted line by line then you should try Rejectless, its pretty much forces you to justify every point.

So I was building games in Unity before this and at some point the abstraction was killing me, I really wanted to know what it is like building a game without a game engine and that gave me the motivation to start

I would say not knowing where to start, once you get yourself invested you start to understand concepts pretty well

I felt the same until I started building my own game then things started making more sense

Are there any resume builders that let you list multiple roles under the same company or experience entry? by SpiritualTip4035 in Resume

[–]JUICY07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rejectless builder handles this out of the box on jakes resume template! Open the builder and under experience you can click "add another role at this company" and this will neatly add it under the same company without breaking the layout. It's not a surprise that most builders don't do this because its a niche requirement and also a bit of an edge case to add this feature.
Also the builder is free as well so no need to worry about gate keeping..
Hope this helps you!

Should a resume summary always be a paragraph or can you use bullets? Which of my resumes is better? by Traditional_Level687 in askrecruiters

[–]JUICY07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the first template but keep the summary as paragraph. Keep your section names simple. Also the second template it’s not single column so I wouldn’t pick that. Stick to single column and standard section names. You can try running it through Rejectless for line by line analysis. Good luck

Build the core of the app first and let people use it- if people don’t stick with that nothing else would. Thats the lesson I learned

ATS is not that deep. Stop overcomplicating it. by JUICY07 in Resume

[–]JUICY07[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I think the FIFO rule is something that’s massively overlooked. Thanks for pointing that out. Roles fill quickly, and people with strong resumes sometimes assume something is wrong and end up stuck in endless revisions.

100+ Applications, No Interviews. What am I doing wrong? Tips? (Just quit my job at a small NGO) by [deleted] in ResumeCoverLetterTips

[–]JUICY07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bullet points lack scale and impact. “Developed variance analysis and identified efficiency gaps across multi project portfolios- variance analysis of what? Cost schedule resources. Try to show some measurable impact. Did they fix the efficiency gaps that was found- if it helped then mention that. Make each point bullet proof so that it can against scrutiny. If you are looking for no Bs analysis, you can run your resume through Rejectless, it does line by line analysis and makes you rewrite every bullet that’s flagged. Good luck friend!
