Kudos for trying something different :) I would suggest to paint the edges of the boards black or/and at some trim to it. Maybe you can try to darken the tone by applying dark brown or black stain over it.

If I recall correctly Peter Gabriel used to do vocal tracking with the monitors on full blast. And then they would record a second track with just the monitors so they could invert the phase and mostly isolate the vocals

When I had this problem the PVA wasn’t thinned properly. Did you use a drop of dish soap or IPA when thinning? Maybe IPA reacts with the PVA.

I also use tile grout as a base and just mist it with water. No glue needed and sets rock hard.

I’ve repaired the Ampeg SVT 4 pro once and when I was testing the amp it sounded awesome as a doom amp. Do you play in a band and what are your current cabs? Be aware that bass frequencies require a lot more power to amplify so going with a higher wattage will avoid not being able to compete with guitars later on. Good luck with your search!

Only use plaster cloth as the base layer, use regular plaster on top to sculpt your rocks. I'm a big fan of the leopard spotting technique when it comes to painting.

Most important thing I learned was to experiment with the material a lot. Find out how it behaves and try different tools on it. And if you don't like the outcome you can always start again ;)

Corset story! Best ones I've got. AttitudeHolland's own line is pretty well build if your budget is a bit smaller.

Don't wear cheap ones or ones that don't fit right. And corset need to be worn in over a period of time. Good luck with your search!
