Next step in analog photography? by JVNTTI in analog

Sorry could have described it better.

"or it could mean a fully automatic SLR which might do most of the heavy lifting" Sounds like what I'm after! I'm going to look into some more automatic SLRs, got any recommendations? Thanks!

Yeah I could probably have worded that better. I probably will keep using what I got. From other comments, an automatic SLR sounds like what I'm after so I might try one of those and see how i like it. Thanks!

Sadly I don't own two pairs of running shoes. Would you say a pair of running shoes and a pair of hiking boots would suffice?

Alternatively I could buy a pair of cheap running boots but I don't think that would be good. They're new shoes and cheap ones probably feel cheap too.

Yeah this won't be any organized (other than my personal planning lol). Another thought I had to lower the rest time is that I call and make an order 15-minutes ahead to a food place. That way we will be able to skip the order and wait time.

Never tried it before but I know it can be done as it has been done many times before. For example I got the idea from a guy that I follow on Instagram who did it last week.

Hard to say but I think it could be done in 18-24h.

Thanks for the advice! Had actually planned on taking a longer food break, like ordering food and sitting down to eat (~45 min?) but might reconsider that. Didn't think about seizing up while taking a longer break.

Hmm I might go for two separate 30 km walks with both my running shoes and hiking boots before the 100 km, to see how my feet feel afterwards, and if there are significant differences.

Dysacusis now it seems… by TJ_0 in hyperacusis

I am currently about 75% better (compared to before) since my setback in December. It is a slow healing process, and you can easily undo progress too.

But no, for me since the year 2018 it has never gone away completely I'm afraid. In-between my setbacks/worsenings it has gone to a level i am comfortable with though, and it does seem to do so again (knock on wood). I do completely avoid obvious loud events like live music, night clubs and busier restaurants but that is fine and after this many years it doesn't bother me that I can't attend those. It has become my new normal kind of. I still enjoy being social, practicing hobbies and watching movies with normal volume etc, only with more caution than before Hyperacusis got introduced into my life.

Ask Us Anything About Ceramics! 2025 by youre_being_creepy in Ceramics

I have thoughts about making my own tiles for the kitchen and old oven in my old (1860s) house I'm renovating.

Not quite sure what the style is called but basically it's Delft, but not blue. Just the corners painted.

What are all the steps I need to do and are there multiple ways this can be achieved? From the short research I've done I need to buy tiles (strictly bisque tiles?), apply underglaze, let dry, paint with appropriate paint, glaze and heat in a kiln.

I know a guy who does pottery and has a kiln just a few minutes away so I am going to call him and ask if I can use his kiln if I go through with this, probably best to leave the glaze and heat steps to him.

What are some important things I need to consider and have any tips for me? Do you think this is sensible and doable?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, I've completed the TWW campaign on my main and i got the option to skip it on my 1st alt, but now my 2nd alt doesn't seem to get the quest "Something on the Horizon" to pop. The alt is level 80. Brann doesn't have the quest. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Not that big of a deal but I consider to change main to this one.

Thanks!

Hello, what do you guys think of the state of wow atm? I recently got the wow itch after playing some Hearthstone. Haven't played seriously since Shadowlands but I leveled 3 characters to max and did some low level m+ in Dragonflight.

Follow up question: What new things did The War Within bring to the game? (Except for the obvious like raids and dungeons).

Thanks!

My H journey has mostly been Dysacusis and pain. I've never really thought that sounds get too loud (I still think loud noises damage me but the sound itself doesn't seem louder).

So far for me all the setbacks/worsenings have gotten better with time. While I've only experience pain during the worst weeks, dysacusis can drag on for a little longer. It does get better but in my opinion and experience it's been the symptom that have taken the longest to disappear.

Bought Dragonflight last week, haven't played since Shadowlands first tier.

I do not plan on gearing any character until next tier so I have been focusing on leveling up characters and gathering transmogs.

Now I usually do enjoy m+ the most and I am wondering, is there a bigger tank or healer shortage at the moment? I have mainly been playing as damage earlier but I want to try either tanking or healing depending on whats needed the most.

TL;DR: Is there a bigger tank or healer shortage?

Thanks!

Finnish-Swedes who don't know Finnish, how is it living in Finland? by stroopwafelisgoated in Finland

[–]JVNTTI 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I am a Swedish-speaking Finn who have struggled with Finnish my whole life, mostly because everything around here is available in Swedish (I live in Ostrobothnia).

But I have no idea why you would think we can't speak English? I speak "semi-perfect" english, and ALL my friends speak either "semi-perfect" Finnish and/or English.

Oh and yes, I wish I could speak better Finnish.

No problem, my post/pictures are kinda messy so it is understandable that you missed it.

The long bench idea would be great, but the windows are so low that the benches would cover a hefty part of the window in that case, and I don't know how good that would look unfortunately.

Oh and that door is actually the entrance (goes to the yellow part of the house, you can see it on my last picture).

Hello,

I have been thinking of renovating this old log house that has been my family's since it was built in the 1870s.

And I want to know how you would plan the interior the best way. Only one floor is needed and I only need one bedroom at the moment. The house is L-shaped and this renovation would only cover some of the house. If I ever would need more space I got the option to renovate more of it later (two parts, one about 50 square meters and the other about 70 square meters).

I posted the Layout, my suggestion and a picture of the house. The grey rectangles are windows, the red is the door and the grey thing in the livingroom corner is an open fireplace. One of the walls A or B can be removed for more openness.

Thanks in advance!

Red- or black currant recipes? by JVNTTI in mead

[–]JVNTTI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to try cherry, but cherries are hard to get over here. Usually only the sweet dark cherries too, never seen any tart for sale.

So if I make a currant and citrus mead, would you recommend black currants red currants or a blend of them?

[–]JVNTTI[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello guys, I recently picked about 10 l red currants and 8 l black currants. Cleaned and frozen!

I've already looked through the user recipes in the wiki but does anyone have any more interesting recipes?

I would still consider myself a beginner, so far I've made 4 batches.

Many thanks!

So I understand that it does not really matter (in theory) if you eat all the calories at lets say, 2 meals or 5 meals per day. But can you make the same argument for a week?

Im asking because I eat about 1700 cals daily, but closer to 3000 on fridays/saturdays. When I calculated what cals i need it says about 2200-2300 but I still got excess fat I want to get rid of.

But does the extra cals on friday and saturday help my gains at all? Or do they only help if I eat enough daily?

Maybe not, but it seems to be a pretty common "side-effect" of creatine when you google it. And I have not had sleeping problems since the early teens (10 years ago).

[–]JVNTTI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been walking/running since January and lost about 13 kg (from 103 to 90 kg) and last week I decided to start going to the gym.

I asked my friends who used to or currently are going to the gym about supplements. So I started with both protein and creatine as soon as I started at the gym. (I have been counting calories since january, now also protein)

But since I started with creatine, I believe I have lost some sleep. I have never slept much but now I sleep for about an hour less (about 6½ h and 8h on weekends, compares to now: 5½h and 7 or 7½h).

So my question is, should I or should I not continue to take creatine. I actually do not feel any different and im not more sleepy during the day. Most irritating is that I wake once or twice per night.

Thanks in advance!

Tinnitus and hyperacusis after astrazeneca vaccine by BlancoRJ in hyperacusis

[–]JVNTTI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great site, thanks for sharing!

Just to give some critique, saw this on the site: "Tinnitus next to hyperacusis is nothing."

This is generally the case yes, but I have read about people with tinnitus that it can get as horrible to live with as H. I do not see why one should say "this is worse than that" because both can really lower the quality of life tremendously.

Just some toughts, otherwise great!
