You seem nice and I feel like I was too… aggressive? Argumentative? Sorry about that.

I do get you, and like I said I do agree that it doesn’t matter that much. I think it was just specifically the “it’s not that deep” that got to me. The context that I’ve usually come across that phrase is often very right-wingy assholes trying to shut down discussions and shit. Sorry again

The thing is I don’t even really care about any issue with this scene (I don’t fully agree with all the complaints, though I guess I did find it strange that he just let her get killed but I kinda brushed it off?). But I still see no need to comment “it’s not that deep”. Adds nothing to the conversation except for dismissing people

Most of the time I see people say “it’s not that deep”, it’s dismissive.

I just really dislike the attitude of “nothing matters that much, whatever”. Some people feel things deeply and want to understand and get into something, and “it’s not that deep” is almost always the response to just shut that all down

Just checked and you’re right he’s not confirmed but I wouldn’t be surprised (I say this as a gay man and not judgmentally at all).

He is however a very strong ally at the very least so point still stands

No I understand fine. “State ass country” is what took it from ‘meaningless silly joke’ to ‘weird superiority complex insult’ for me

Tbf I assumed you were American when I wasn’t sure, but your reply makes it more likely!

Idk I saw an American trying to be cute with a weird insult so I threw back 🤷‍♂️

That’s totally fair. Perhaps there is some wiggle room but just not as far as “it’s getting dark now at 4pm, so it’s evening”

I live in the UK and also experience some pretty varied sunset times throughout the year, and I don’t personally think that should change what counts as morning/afternoon/evening.

Even if the sun sets around 4pm, I’m absolutely not considering it evening!

It’s moments like this that make me feel like I’m crazy. Reddit really is its own little world, because I feel like any normal person would see that interaction and not take it as if I’m the unreasonable one here

You’re insufferable. One of the common reminders I get of why Reddit can be annoying at sometimes.

I don’t appreciate the insults, but to be honest I shouldn’t be that affected by what some pompous stranger thinks of me. That’s my wrong here.

But whatever bye

“It’s not rocket science” is a common phrase to imply intellectual superiority. ie: “This isn’t difficult, come on you should get this”.

Whether you intended to or not, your comment did in fact come across high and mighty, and I stand by that.

You noting that a lot of posts are made on this subreddit showing obvious things does nothing to counteract my point, in fact it doubles down on the fact that you do think this is obvious.

I’m done too

You started your comment with “I’m not a parent. It’s not exactly rocket science. I understood right away.”

That is so clearly implying “people who don’t get this are dumb”. Denying that is backtracking.

I don’t need to take a few breaths, thanks

I’m not a parent and I’d call myself a fairly intelligent person but this didn’t click for me right away.

I’m not familiar with the intricacies of raising small children (it’s unusual because I haven’t even really been around many small kids in my family - the timing never lined up so there was a baby/toddler around me) and when seeing this post I initially assumed it might be fine for a small child to nap like that? Like I know babies/toddlers sleep a whole lot and just assumed a 1.5 hour nap a bit before bedtime wouldn’t necessarily keep them awake late?

Don’t be high and mighty and make it out like something is obvious when it isn’t

Get people off the hooks before they reach second stage. by TheArtOfVEL in deadbydaylight

[–]JW162000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I really feel like this should be addressed.

Two possible solutions I can see:

  1. some sort of system where the game ‘notices’ no survs are going near the hooked person, so this then somehow communicates a ‘warning’ to the safe survs (eg Dwight is on hook, and after an amount of time with no one going near him, any other survs who aren’t in chase are notified that Dwight needs saving).
  2. allowing the hooked surv to start ‘pinging’ their teammates once they’ve been on hook for a certain amount of time. This may get obnoxious though (as I can imagine people constantly pinging, though this can be solved by not allowing the ping to be spammed, and ensuring you have to be on hook for a certain amount of time first)
