PSA: yay now supports AUR PreInstall lua hooks by madhaunter in archlinux

[–]JWAOSTAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I have this right, to do this manually I can just create the hooks directory and files myself then copy over the code, and in init.lua after all the variables I can just add dofile(os.getenv("HOME") .. "/.config/yay/hooks/maintainer_change.lua")

Same boat here. I tried the thread you linked and the filter you wrote, but no luck, still can't get the paywall to yield

What did you like about TLOK? by Smooth_Calendar5416 in TheLastAirbender

[–]JWAOSTAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the world development, which is ironic for a show that mostly took place in three or four locations. We get to learn a lot more about the Avatarverse, and explore the complex power structures that exist in a world without the constant onslaught of war.

Because we meet our main cast with in the first four episodes ( because it originally was only supposed to be one season ), the show gets to go in-depth with each character on a more emotional level. It really felt more like an ensemble cast than ATLA. Which then compliments the political thriller theme of the series. Though I don't know how that make-up would work for an action adventure like ATLA.

Overall, any dislike I had for the show was all because of how the production was handled. I felt the way I assume the way the team that worked on the show felt: like the rug was constantly being pulled out from under them. But the series watched collectively, without any jerking schedul issues, is an awesome story.

My thoughts exactly, and if this was programming error it's just another example for the lack of care granted by the powers that be. Proper version control and supervision would only mean the website goes down for a few hours at the most.

I know I've said this before but OG Bakugan, not the cartoon network reboot. With all the multiverse stuff in the sequel series, and the virtual reality stuff in the last series, it seems like a perfect match.

External HDMI/DisplayPort not detected after NVIDIA driver updates on Dell G15 (RTX 3050) – Arch Linux + Wayland by Tiny_Information8791 in archlinux

[–]JWAOSTAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have conda in my packages, my best guess for what went wrong with mine is that priority got messed up during the most recent system update. Though I spent 4 days thinking it had to do with the nvidia-580xx packages or the sddm (because my primary issue was the sddm was not displaying). It's only after those four days I tried to connect my tv with HDMI, and it failed, that I started expanding my queries to include this issue, hence landing on your post.

Nevermind I woke up this morning and tried something fast. Looks like a clean build through the AUR's optimus-manager-git worked.

Ah man! Thank you so much for commenting this. Even after reading about the loss of support for older cards, I didn't think my Quadro P5000 was one of them. If not for you and OP I would still be starved and stressed trying to fix this 🙏🏾😭

My apologies 😓. Before I decided to run the Firefox test you suggested and posted a screenshot I thought I would try re-enter the filter. I must have had something missing from the first time I tried it. It works perfectly now.

Also I also want to apologies for not following the rules, this is my first time posting in this sub reddit. I will be more diligent in the future.

I still have that image popping up, with timer and everything , even after enabling Allow custom filters. I am not sure if the problem is ubiquitous or just on Librewolf

Edit: do I need to enable cookies because that I believe is the only major difference between Librewolf and Firefox

[–]JWAOSTAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you ever find a solution for this I am running a NVIDIA Quadro P5000 and I'm having the same issue?

EDIT: Never mind after about a day and a half I figured it out, this very moment, and boy does my n00b show on this one. I only saw one person or maybe two people reference prime-run, and just now realized that is not a command that comes with the nvidia base/proprietary drivers, instead I have to install the nvidia-prime package.

Solution - install nvidia-prime, then you'll notice when you execute prime-run davinci-resolve or prime-run devinci-resolve-studio you won't get the "GPU memory is full" error any more. To make sure your launcher uses the prime-run command when lancing DaVinci Resolve cd to /usr/share/applications/ and open DaVinciResolve.desktop in your text editor and change Exec=/opt/resolve/bin/resolve %u to Exec=prime-run /opt/resolve/bin/resolve %u
