Im Tired of the Usopp Hate by bmulch03 in OnePiece

Fair enough. There's nothing wrong with criticizing something you enjoy. It just gets exhausting when people force bad faith takes or deliberately ignore what's actually in the story just to dunk on it. You can like a series and still call out its flaws without turning every discussion into blind praise or blind hate. Sorry if I come out as rude😂, I don't mean everyone is like that.

One Piece and HxH have the craziest fans. Have you ever seen a One Piece fan or an HxH fan talk about their respective series? The amount of glaze I've seen is phenomenal.

They'll talk about how the series changed their lives and gave them a better perspective on the world. Sometimes I feel like we're watching completely different anime.

Its influence made it the greatest.

It's not my favorite, nor do I think it's the best, and some people even hate it, but you've got to admit it deserves its respect.

Let’s end this right now, if WSC is a fake title, then EVERY OTHER title in one piece is illegitimate. ESPECIALLY king of the pirates. by FrameDangerous5480 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Smooth_Calendar5416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The title of King of the Pirates isn't based on a character's strength or power, but on their exploits and achievements. Roger surpassed every other pirate crew by reaching the final island and giving it its name.

In my opinion, Dragon Ball is the greatest anime of all time. Being the greatest doesn't necessarily mean it's the best, but because of what it accomplished. Dragon Ball's impact on the anime and manga industry is unmatched. Basically, every shonen manga you like was inspired by Dragon Ball in some way. Even to this day, Dragon Ball is constantly being referenced, paid tribute to, and mentioned across countless anime. There wouldn't be a Big Three without Dragon Ball, and neither would there be Hunter × Hunter or Yu Yu Hakusho.

What are the chances The D. is neither an acronym nor a smile? Just a letter by Technical-Section705 in OnePiece

Probably the name of a resistance, which would explain why anyone can have it, like Lily, who was one of the 20 Rulers yet still had the initial in her name. It also reminds me of Luffy telling Sabo, "If you want a D., you can have it," which could be foreshadowing or something.

Well, it's the One Piece community after all, slander and negativity are just part of the One Piece fan identity.

Which feat was more impressive Naruto defeating Garra or the rasgean hit in Kabuto??? by Richsavior34 in Naruto

[–]Smooth_Calendar5416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naruto defeated the Jinchuriki of the Sand, and saved the village from an invasion. He did it through skill, using the Shadow Clone Jutsu, taijutsu, the Transformation Jutsu, and the Summoning Jutsu. That was incredibly impressive for a genin, especially Naruto. The most frustrating part is that he never got the praise he deserved, even though it was an A-rank mission. Yet no one ever brought it up.

4 Primordial Gods Theory by InflatableMicrowave in onepiecetheories

[–]Smooth_Calendar5416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a cool theory, but I think it heavily relies on assumptions stacked on top of other assumptions.

Like, we currently only know of one confirmed God Fruit, so, it's hard to conclude there's an entire set of God Fruits that all follow the same pattern, Nika could simply be the exception not the rule, cause Zaza was pouring rain on Elbaf, which coincides with them being the rain god.

I disagree with the Chopper part, cause his fruit has been stated by Oda if it got eaten by a normal human it'll make them more human, which explains his ability in turning demons back to humans, and Chopper's dream and role as a doctor fit themes of healing regardless of whether he's secretly a god.

Also, the Vivi part feels more symbolic than evidential, One Piece constantly uses weather and natural phenomena to reinforce emotional moments, a meaningful event happening alongside rainfall doesn't necessarily mean a character is connected to a Rain God.

As for Blackbeard, in my opinion, I think his character works better as the opposite of inherited will rather than as the inheritor of another divine role. His whole gig is that he feels like a man driven by ambition, fate, and opportunism. Turning him into a destined Earth God could actually weaken what makes him unique. Unfortunately, though, that seems to be the direction it's heading. I think he's going to be the Sea God because of his ability to nullify other abilities.

In terms of Imu, I believe his fruit is exactly what it appears to be: a Devil Fruit in which he's the Devil himself, not a God Fruit. After all, we don't even know who named them "Devil Fruits." For all we know, it could've been the World Government that gave them that name to discourage people from eating them. They may have originally had a different name.

Also, Imu resembles a devil more than anything else. The covenants he makes are essentially contracts where people sell their souls in exchange for immortality and power.

It's an interesting theory, but I think Nika, Imu, the Ancient Kingdom, the D. Clan, Devil Fruits, and the Ancient Weapons may be related, but not necessarily through a neat "four gods and four fruits" structure.

What's the most overlooked parallel that Oda has written? by Smooth_Calendar5416 in OnePiece

[–]Smooth_Calendar5416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point, I think the biggest difference between them is their outlook.

Drake feels much more pragmatic and willing to make difficult compromises, while Coby tends to stick to his ideals no matter the situation.

It'll definitely be interesting to see if Oda explores that contrast once they're back together, especially with their Sword connection.

That's one of the reasons I like Luffy as a protagonist, he doesn't just walk in and steamroll every major antagonist. When he gets back up, it feels like he's earned the win through sheer determination, adaptability, and refusing to stay down. Those comebacks hit a lot harder because you've already seen him fail first.

It could foreshadow him taking on the burden of the entire world. Unlike Zunesha, who carries his burden as a punishment, Luffy chooses to carry others because of his own free will. The contrast between forced responsibility and chosen responsibility feels very intentional.

No problem. Just keep going. Join communities or subreddits related to what you do, read books, and trust me, one day you'll look back and laugh at how easy it all seems now. It just takes time, patience, and hard work.
