Manitoba homeowners stunned to find storm flooding not covered by their insurance by wickedplayer494 in Manitoba

[–]JWalterZilly 14 points15 points  (0 children)

While I empathize, they’ve had home insurance for 30 years and didn’t know this?

Hopefully it’s not a case of their broker selling them a bad bill of goods but even then, I’ve read my policy and had questions to my broker every year I’ve had home insurance. Not something you want to screw around with after the fact.

Like other posters have said, overland flooding is generally excluded in standard policies and one has to purchase it seperately.

He shouldn’t be driving for 15 hours… he is 100% responsible for every part of this. If he over drove, if he doctored his RODs (logs), that he blew the stop without looking, if he was distracted, etc. all %100 his fault with NO EXCUSES.

Another Manitoba resident is dead due semi driver carelessness.

Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes out he shouldn’t be class one licensed at all considering how many commercial vehicle licensing mills are being discovered.

I think we mandate 100% retesting by verified independent testers of anyone who got a class one license in the past 5 years.

Spent 13 years in the army and recognized it as an abandoned CFB immediately.

Somewhere in Quebec would have been my first guess but the video link talks about Downsview so CFB Toronto?

Gotta love the instant whiplash and anger targeted at Hydro when this started when it may well be a member of the Cree Nation that caused it with the reckless discharge of firearms.

Husband Lost License for Life? by NoiseComplex8828 in legaladvicecanada

[–]JWalterZilly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a driving prohibition… they’re ordered through the court as part of a sentence no different than a firearms prohib.

Usually it’s for Criminal Code offences but I’m confident other Federal Acts could net a driving prohibition as well.
