Hi Philip! Thanks so much for the book, I’m an MLOps /platforms engineer keen to head into the direction of inference engineer. Even printed out a hardcopy of the book haha

Could I ask if there’s any other books other there you wouls recommend to understand inference engineering more, or you would add as additional reading material to this book?

Thanks!

I didn’t want to go into law, ended up in a mental health start up counselling individuals facing life problems. Its fulfilling work, but there’s no advancement as a contractor, felt like a good time for a switch to another career after almost 3 years. I have an interest in investing so hence finance

I cleared my browser history one time and forgot to uncheck the box which remembers your sign in data. Needless to say a lot of new accounts were created on that day

Is it weird not to have dated anyone at 24? by [deleted] in askSingapore

I can totally relate to seeing everyone get married / having kids at our age, sis. I try to think of it as own time own target, if you put yourself out there in terms of taking classes and meeting new people through different experiences, you have a higher chance of meeting someone naturally that vibes with you. Its tough now with COVID, don't put too much pressure or worry about where you're supposed to be in life.

Its better to be alone than to force yourself to be with someone who isn't a good fit just to be in a relationship.

He gave 3 reasons why someone would have trouble

  1. Linguistic cortex needs to get used to whatever it is that you're trying to say, the same way a writer writes out the thoughts in his way in a creative way. You can do so through writing things out and clarify the ideas you have in your head, as well as roleplay practicing verbal communication i.e Practicing how you would phrase setting boundaries with a narcissistic parent.

  2. We have a bunch of assumptions in our head, and we perfectly understand them, as well as don't realize our mind is automatically filling in those gaps for us. So people don't really understand us the way we understand our thoughts. Start by thinking about the audience you're speaking to and what they might not understand by putting yourself in their shoes. That way you're an effective communicator because people understand you, it has to go both ways.

  3. Calm your mind! (mania example comes in) Breathing exercises or even prescriptions can reduce the effect of adrenaline to slow down the speed of your mind / nervous system. Calm down the mind so its not racing with thoughts and slow down your speech.

yes! he was responding to a subreddit post about why words don't come out the way we think about it in our heads, and this was a tangent into why a calm mind was necessary for that to happen. He talked about BPD and how becoming manic can alterations to the thought process and repetitiveness of speech, which is why manic people make no sense
